Appreciate the details to help direct my prayer. Was hoping for better news. Will continue to pray
Means the world to me Nick.

But I'm an optimist and want to be clear.
While the calcified pancreas as a whole is incurable, there is a possibility of the duct repair.
If accomplished, the pain will reduce to a much more tolerable amount, I will be able to mostly digest food (with help of meds), reversing malnutrition and can have a semi normal life span.
As long as there's hope, I fully intend to be here tormenting the heck out of you guys! 😂

Will continue to pray. Is taking out the pancreas a possibility, or has the calcium build up been too much?
Has been done but specialist said quality of life becomes virtually non existent.
But there's hope for the duct fix, explained in my last post. It will work out, I refuse to believe otherwise.

Total weight loss - from slim 182 to current 122. Photo is close up of the pancreas area, weight loss will allow you to identify swelling seen in graphic further down.

CT scan shows hardened calcium covering entire pancreas, no cure.
Specialist also believes there is a calcium blockage in the pancreatic duct. The duct should be an average of 2.5 mm, mine was 7 last yr and 9mm this year.

This stops enzymes from breaking down any food and is extremely painful. Also, an occasional burst of excessive enzymes that eat at my insides in a form of acute pancreatitis (hospitalization)
Forward plan in order.
1.Exploratory scope with camera, possible procedure:
Oral scope through stomach to pancreas entrance.
Possible results
A. "net removal" of blockage.
B. Next procedure due to size of blockage
C. "Complete mess" look for different solutions.

2. Back to duct entrance to install a stint and hope for assistance in removal

3. Two different attempts according to previous data/results.

3(a) - sent to a different part of the country for sonic pulses:
Sonic blast waves from outside of pancreas in an attempt to explode calcium in the duct to removable pieces. Possible enternal damage and bleeding.

3(b) - surgery to install a tube connecting to bottom of pancreas, bypassing duct. Enzymes would have to back flush to stomach. Not the best solution.

All options have a probable risk of dangerous acute pancreatitis reoccurrences.

Tl;dr
There just is no final cure and truth is, I've spent all that I have and will struggle mightily to afford the first procedure. I see no possibility of being able to financially continue past that point.
Shouldn't be working until some pressure can be relieved but not working is absolutely not an option.

It's a long shot but with a wife and 2 kids that are so dependant on me, I have to try everything I can to extend my time for/with them. Please keep me and them in your thoughts and prayers, it means so much to me. I'm determined to stay positive but will really need the emotional backing from my VN extended family.
Charger, will continue to pray for you and your family.

@chargervol - My prayers and thoughts are with you. I cannot imagine the struggle and strain it must put on you and your family. As I mentioned in a previous post, I admire and commend you and others for sharing personal issues/struggles.

Not sure how I could ever be of any assistance, but I will at least offer you and your family an invite to North Alabama (Huntsville/Decatur area) if you ever want to just get away for a weekend. I work in the environmental/wildlife management field and will give you all a personal tour around some of the wildlife management areas. Not sure if that kind of stuff is of interest, but wanted to at least offer.

I will cover your hotel expenses. Or, if you wanted to only do a day trip (assuming you are near Knoxville?), I will cover lunch. Only thing you will have to do is get your family here. Not much to offer, but figured if you just wanted to get away and get a personal tour of the great natural resources GOD has bestowed upon us, I could at least provide that opportunity.

If interested, please do not hesitate to let me know and I will get you my personal contact info.

GOD bless, and many prayers for you and your family!

Prayers for you and your family Charger. I know that this is not the reason you are posting this, and please don't take offense, but why do we not have some kind of fund for you? Volnation has come through before and your situation is as worthy as any. I'm not experienced at setting up things like this but I know that I would definitely donate to helping provide a little more hope of being able to financially afford a procedure or in the worst case scenario some stability for your family.

Also, has anyone brought this to @Atlanta VOL attention?

And if you are in driving distance, I will cover your gas expenses 😁.

I just want to say how much I respect and admire yer stubbornly optimistic attitude and ability to have a sense of humor through all yer going through. It's inspiring and I'm sure beneficial to yer sanity as well. Keep tormenting all these morans in here.

Amazing offer and truly appreciated.
Absolutely love the outdoors and would love to take you up on the offer *at my own expense, as soon as possible 👍
Will discuss then.

That just sucks my good man, hopefully they can give you some relief. The bills will be a headache, trust me I am right there with you, but if it works it will definitely be worth it no matter the cost!

The amazing people here have offered assistance, including @Atlanta VOL.
It's been me that's not wanted this. If something comes up where I can work for for a chance to improve my situation, hope y'all keep me in mind.
Just can't accept anything without earning it though.
But thank you so much for the thoughts.
Love ya guys.

You bet! Open offer for whenever you and your family might choose. Don't let the offer of covering expenses be a concern. Please don't look at it in a negative way or as a "handout", definitely not that. But rather just one fellow Vol trying to help another. We ALL can use/need help from time to time. Lord knows I have had folks help me in the past, even when I did not want it, and just grateful to be able to potentially return the favor. Regardless, the offer stands and will be an option (expenses or not) if you ever choose.

🙏👍

@Atlanta VOL make him do data entry of like 5 transactions on a excel spreadsheet. that way he would have worked for it.
