Right now the braves have 4 spots in the lineup not counting the pitcher that are league average or worse. That's not good. Donaldson is outstanding if healthy. But he wasn't healthy last year so you're hoping he'll be healthy all year. You're also hoping that Oz and Acuna don't suffer sophomore slumps. You're also hoping that Ender can return to what he was in 2017. You're hoping that Father Time doesn't catch Markakis and he's able to have a full season like his first half last year. That's a lot of hoping. Adding Machado or Realmuto helps tremendously
Machado is so good defensively too, I think he needs to stay at 3rd base wherever he goes.

He couldn't play 3rd with the braves, but while his defense isn't as good at short, his offensive production far outweighs any liability. And you can always put Camargo in late in the games to hold leads if you didn't trust him there.

I’d take Realmuto over Machado. Don’t understand McCann deal.

Fant is stacked, another year lifting and he'll be more stacked. Keep him at RB and let him get reps.
Kind of crazy he went from WR to TE to RB. The guy has talent, he just hasn’t really played much football since his junior year in HS, hurt his senior year. Having him as a change of pace back from Chandler would be nice

Far outweighs any liability?

Disagree. Having a poor SS that lacks range isn't worth a better bat.
Even a significantly better one

What happened to the mass exodus of players transferring? I figured we would have around 10 guys in the transfer portal by now

It's just so odd to me that some keep changing their minds. With Pruitt knowing he has to see a number of guys leave to make the 85 work I would have thought he'd be happy to see a few hit the portal
