Memphis got beat last night, 12-7 now.

Hoping the AAC powerhouse schedule they play continues to humble them.

Also I don't think Bone leaves unless we reach a final four. Unlike Grant he can still improve his draft stock as a senior, Grant is pretty much who he is at this point. Not likely to gain anything from staying as a senior except a chance to win more games/awards/championships.

I'm not sure Grant can't improve his stock. His height is his Achilles heel for the game he plays. We've seen how players can transform during the off season. Admiral went from a below average shooter (not just 3s) to a very good shooter and his ball handling improved as well. If Grant really worked hard to improve his three point shooting and his ball handling, it would definitely improve his draft stock.

The people in the background are worse than the guys that made the song. They aren’t doing anything besides moving around awkwardly which means they have even less talent than those hacks. Plus they are ****** friends for letting them put this out in the first place.

But is that what Barnes would want?

I feel like Grant returns as a senior he'd still mostly be interior. Adding Josiah and having Bowden, Turner, Bone, Johnson, Pons all potentially back that will crowd the perimeter.

I think they've been working with Grant on those things. He mentioned that he had worked at the point in practice 🤔. I think coach Barnes has their interest at heart. Expanding their game skills only helps the team.

Most on here don't know how true this is. Widby was punter on the football team and a straight baller on the basketball team. Nearly a one man show. How many guys can say they punted in the NFL for years and also played in the old ABA for a season. 4 sport letterman at UT - add in baseball and golf. But he was a marksman in basketball that could also score the ball at the rim.
Former Fulton Falcon.

I hope Memphis does not even make the NIT or that other college tournament (not the NCAA).

He may not change the starting lineup but I think he needs to rethink when he starts subbing. Against Vandy, we were up 15-2 and I believe he started subbing. That backfired a little bit. I know he's trying to keep guys fresh for the end but I would like to see him keep those guys in a little longer when they're on that kind of run. I've never coached anything but that's just my observation from a long distance ;);)

Yeah possibly. I personally don't think improving his 3PT shot helps his stock, but I'm not a scout or anything.

10rpg and 20ppg with a 3rd SEC title though 🤩

God, that Haslam article on ESPN is so telling. You all need to read it and imagine that level of terrible leadership infecting our football program. Dude consistently plays people against each other, never lands on a consistent strategy, and ultimately, thinks he knows just as much about football as the career GMs and coaches he hires. We've got to get this family away from our program.
That almost sounds like Jerry Jones :cool:

I think it's about how his game projects to the NBA. His bread and butter is his post game but will it translate to the league? How will he do when matched up with taller, more physical players? Not saying he can't make it work, others have but increasing his skill set can't hurt him.

They pretty much leave him unguarded at the three point line now. If they are forced to man up on him at the three line, the worst thing that happens is it keeps the other teams big from hedging toward the rim.

Agreed if he were any kind of threat from the 3-Line not only would it add a facet to his game but it would allow for his shot fake from there to be more effective which would help him get to the rim easier to either score with his post moves or find the open man under there for a dunk since the defense would rotate

Grant Williams has said in the past that he wants to graduate in 3 years and then get his Masters. I know that might change, but he would be wise to stay next year. Unfortunately he is very much like Jarnell Stokes and far as height is concerned. A tweener

No psychology background but there’s something unbalanced in those accounts. Maybe extreme ADHD?

They play UCF next who beat Bama and almost beat Missouri. They're 17-3 right now and look like they may be a pretty good team. Hopefully UCF can put a beatdown on memphis Sunday.
