Since he was considering Ivy schools, I suspect the degree would be a priority to both Grant and his family? Of course, he can finish anytime and turning down an NBA contract would be a surprise, it could happen. Peyton returned. Then again, Grant could already be in position to get the degree early. Wonder how close he is?
I bet he graduates this year

Ahhh you are correct. Good lord.... it’s surprising that guy hasn’t made it to a starting spot.... DE 6’4 and 276 as a sophomore last year and now a junior and a year in Fitz’s program.... is he expected to push for a starting spot?
Butler’s always looked the part. Came in as a Freshman looking better than some of our upperclassmen.

For whatever reason, he hasn’t put it all together on the field yet. Hopefully he’s just been in need of development and will come on strong this spring and carry it over to the fall. If not, I’m not sure how much longer he’ll be in Orange.

I agree with everything but Pons is still better than Fulkerson. fulk is just a foul machine on defense and worse than Pons on offense.

Not sure where I compared the two...but I think Pons is still very raw. His ceiling is extremely high, Fulkerson could see more growth, especially if he can stay healthy and add strength.

Feel like this team has 6 guys that are steps ahead of the rest of the team. Need 2-3 bench guys to make some strides for a deep run in March.

More like....

We have 4 players that need to step the **** up. Grant cannot do it by himself against the best teams in the country. Admiral, nut up! Kyle, sack up!
We are struggling to guard the ball. That causes a domino effect. We then have to over help. Then either opposite block players or players at the 3 point line are left open. But those issues start with being able to stay in front of the guy with the ball. Tonight specifically, we caused some of the by doing too much lazy switching. Then Grant or Admiral or Alexander are left trying to stay in front of Lee. Tough matchup. I think based on what I see that our defensive philosophy is to fight thru screens early in the shot clock but switch everything late in the shot clock. Vandy did a good job of using that to their advantage. And of course they had to hit the open 3's and to their credit they hit them.

P.S. That was not the post I meant to reply to. Not sure what happened.

I'll be sure to post while still under the influence of Valium, for your entertainment.
Have fun! It'll be a snip, I mean a snap, I mean a cinch.

Worst parts will be the nurses taping your junk up and the numbing shot. Other than that, grab the frozen bags of veggies and milk it for all it's worth.

Fulkerson has been cold recently. Was playing pretty well at the beginning of the year. Hope he can turn it on down the stretch and into the tournament.

I honestly don't believe anyone can beat us if you consider how good we've seen some of our role players be at times. If we fire on all cylinders instead of having 1-2 players take over every night, we're going to be tough.

So after a brief moment to calm my nerves...

Vanderbilt shot 50% from the field, UT shot 46.6%.
Vanderbilt shot 47.6% from the 3, UT shot 25%
Vanderbilt shot 61.9% from FT, UT shot 91.6%

Rebounds, Assist, Steals, etc. all close...what this game came down to was when it was crunch time Barnes & Grant forcing the issue and getting inside. Admiral shot 9 FGs, and 6 were misses from 3. He had a really bad game, and for some reason kept jacking up 3s, to be fair quite a few weren't bad shots and had some just rim out somehow. But he's far too talented to settle for those shots when he's bigger than his defender in most cases.

I think Pons has lost his starting spot...he's already a liability on the offensive side since he doesn't seem to want to shoot and hasn't shown the ability to take anyone off the dribble. But lately he's looked lost on defense too. I figure Bowden should be starting and Turner/Pons/Fulkie can come off the bench. I really wish JJ and Walker could earn minutes, but I guess they're just not producing in practice.

They will not change the starting lineup. Who starts is not as important as the number of minutes played and who plays in crunch time. Bowden obviously plays better off the bench. It changes our bench rotations. Gives us more options. Bottom line....who cares who is on the court when they do the tip?
