He tried but couldn’t get a fee free agent targets and next year is a bigger pool of FA talent if I am correct. Really wanted the Marlins catcher and still might.
Marlins have been asking anabsurdly high price for Realmuto and still are. If they'll come down, we want him bad...but not for any package that includes Acuna.

I’m just looking at wOBA and WRC+. Markakis is an above above average on base guy. Acuna has a lot of pop, great for the 2 hole. Freeman in the three spot.

I don’t think I watched a single braves game last year.

But why did what I say lead you to believe stats suck?
Kakes leading off wouldnt be sustainable because of his age/wheels, imo. Plus, last year he was at an advantage due to batting behind Freeman. Kakes will prolly bat 5th im guessing. Put your best young hitters near the top, imo. Get on base and score. I like Acuna at the top because he's going to get on base and score... and drive himself in, too.

FTR, I have no problem with Markakis coming back on a one year deal. He just needs to take some games off and pace himself. Hopefully he can replicate his first half success from last year.

Swansby's the weak link offensively, I'm afraid to say. Maybe he can put it together.

Oh, and football.

The lineup is tough. I’d bat Acuna leadoff. One because he was awesome at leadoff. Second, because he wants to bat leadoff and he feels more comfortable there having batted leadoff his whole career. His performance shot through the roof when he was moved there. Even tho he’s the power guy, with the lack of a bonafide leadoff hitter, he’s the best we’ve got.

I’d bat Donaldson 4th. But, I don’t know that much about him but I read today that he prefers the 2 spot like Freddie prefers 3rd. If that’s the case, that complicates matters because there’s only 2 guys qualified to be cleanup on this team and that’s Acuna and Donaldson and neither want to bat there.

My preferred lineup is Acuna, Oz, Freeman, Donaldson, Markakis, Flow/can, Ender, Dansby.

But if Donaldson won’t bat 4th, switch he and Oz since Oz can hit and also has power. That’s what I’d do.

Dear ESPN app,

As an American from the US, I can see as how you might be confused about how little I care about Serena Williams. I literally could not care any less about her, or any other female tennis player. You know who I’d like to hear about? Literally any other US player. Or player who trains in the US. Just not her. Or any other lady tennis player.

Especially lady tennis players from the 1970s.

Signed,
Actual US Tennis fans

I like it. Except when Albies is slumping. We got switch-hitting Camargo to fill some plugs too. Mayhaps we'll see lineups based more on matchups, but i doubt it. i think AA prolly wants to see Snit set himself up for a firing this next year. idk.

Acuna is tough because while you need his power to drive in runs, you need his speed and aggressiveness on the basepaths at leadoff. He puts a tremendous amount of pressure on defenses. I can think of at least a dozen time he forced a mistake or error by just being aggressive and trying to take an extra base.

Ender was more of a factor on the bases than Acuno if that's what you are looking for out of your leadoff

Why on earth is Will Friend making $805k???

Need to give some of his to Nieds.
Or give Nieds his own. You guys act like UT is destitute! Years and years of bisching about us not spending money and now we’re spending too much? To draw him away from an OC position, we had to money up. That market is going up with Pittman soon to bring down $1.5 mil, and the only difference between the two is RECENT recruiting. Pittman didn’t make that 16 UGA OL sporting a Rhode Island grad transfer LT good enough to beat Vandy.

That is a fair point but SBs aren't the only thing that determines how much of a factor you are on the basepaths imo. Ender stole more bases but Acuna took more extra bases. It seemed like every week he had a play where he would take off and you'd be like "nonononono...okay nice". I didnt miss many games and I just dont remember as much of that from Inciarte.

I don't disagree. Acuno certainly hit more balls in the gap than Ender so that's natural. I think with his power needs to be in the middle of the order but I don't think it's an unreasonable take to want to him lead off

I do think it's unreasonable to call for Snit to be fired because of his lineup
