Ozzie is a rookie and his ceiling is far higher than inciarte. Ender has reached his, he’s a career avg hitter and an elite defensive outfielder. Albies is just scratching the surface. Which is why I’d put him at leadoff over Ender any day of the week.

Let's test your baseball IQ.

Is the leadoff hitter one that is agressive early in the count or one that most want to work deep into the count seeing a lot of pitches?

this is why stats suck sometimes. perhaps it's in the interpretation. no offense intended.
I’m just looking at wOBA and WRC+. Markakis is an above above average on base guy. Acuna has a lot of pop, great for the 2 hole. Freeman in the three spot.

I don’t think I watched a single braves game last year.

But why did what I say lead you to believe stats suck?

Yea I have no clue about Albie’s potential. I just know that his OBP last year was not near good enough to be leading my team off.

Do you know where we can find pitches per AB?

I think that one is key for a leadoff. Especially when ob% is close amongst choices

Albies is known for his aggressiveness.
You don't want your leadoff being a first pitch swinger and that's why I said you have to let the young hitters come along slowly. His style doesn't fit as a leadoff guy right now. Maybe later but he needs to grow into it

OBP not close between Albies, Markakis, and Inciarte (markakis wins by >35 points)

Markakis was 3.97 (53rd in baseball)

Inciarte 3.66 (117th)

Albies not in top 120

So yea, Markakis is a serviceable lead off guy for my team

Thanks great stuff

I certainly trust Snit but if I was choosing a leadoff I'd have Markakis up there. I know he doesn't steal bases but that ballpark doesn't need that anyway. His walk:SO ratio is great and he sees a lot of pitches. That's my pick

Lol, been saying that for 2 pages.

But I’m a cardinals fan, so what do I know

As a rookie, he was extremely hot to start the year, and then teams adjusted and then he cooled down. Then he got hot again later in the year. Not surprising at all. I'm not saying that he should be the leadoff hitter, but he should be over Ender any day.

I forgot about Newk. I like him a lot and if he's still a Brave then he takes Touki's spot this year more than likely. There's been some talks about him being traded which is why I forgot about him. He needs to be more consistent though. He had several games where he got demolished.
