I am always amazed some fans of UT don't understand the value of the LV brand for all of UT including the men's programs. Pat made the LV, and consequently, the UT Vol brand known internationally. Basketball is played worldwide and the women's pro leagues are bigger outside of the US than in. That's where the players make their real money. When you get people all over the world knowing the orange/Vols, you have a constant reinforcement of the brand in the minds of the public. That positively impacts the image and revenues (think gear) of UT everywhere regardless of the performance of the men's programs. So yeah, they matter even if you don't care for women's basketball. The football and men's basketball players care for them a lot. Ask them.

Holly's performance is ruining decades of goodwill built by Pat.

Yep. Being a powerhouse program in all marquee sports strengthens the brand. UT used to take football recruits to LV games because the atmosphere was so impressive. Not anymore.

The LVs program is headed over the cliff-- just like football did under Butch. UT was reluctant to make a change, allowed coaches in way over their heads to flounder too long and crashed the program. Unnecessary and unfortunately, a destructive pattern.

We always fire coaches a year too late.

That's true if you go by their original rankings as incoming freshman. I get the impression they're re-ranking them, so I feel like Gibbs will have a significant drop in rating, and I have no clue how they'll approach Solomon.

On the JJP discussion, our problem for too many years has been that we rely on every 4 and 5 star to work out. They don’t all work out immediately and some need a few years of development. It’s why you need 12 to 15 of them every year to have quality depth for those who don’t...

Not sure if JJP is a stud or a dud, but like prior poster let’s give him spring and fall camp to improve.
