About JJP

Understandable about motivation being an issue at this time.

Coming in late last fall out of shape, behind the 8 ball, limited reps in practice and redshirting, difficulty w/ adjustment to college and classes.

That ish needs to stop NOW. It's a new year. Time to get it together starting with workouts and spring practice.

I think Chaney is more of a yes man (not waning that as a total insult) than anything which is probably part of the reason Pruitt got him here. I don’t think he demands a certain amount of control or whatever. Will he curious to see if he’s in the box or on the field.

Chaney is definitely not a yes man. If he was him and Kirby would have gotten along better. Pruitt got him here because he knows Chaney is a guy he can trust to run the offense and not have to babysit like he did with Helton. He can put all his focus on the Defense and let Chaney,Friend,Tee,Weinke and Neidemeyer handle the Offensive side.

Is it a forgone conclusion that Johnson is gone? I may have missed it but last I saw he was still out recruiting for us.

This plus the months of “two weeks” from Probst isn’t giving me the warm fuzzies.

Indeed. It's why I'm leery about recruits with grade issues and juco guys. While some will have learning disabilities, others simply aren't motivated to do what's needed to qualify. Speaks to their drive and work ethic IMO. I'd also question why someone with true learning disabilities is being considered for admission to college but that's not a PC stance these days where everyone is to get a trophy in order to maintain their self-esteem. Really need this kid to turn the corner and live up to his 5 star hype, but we've all seen example after example of kids coasting through on sheer physical ability only to struggle and sometimes flame out when making the jump to the college level.

Not sure what you mean by “true learning disabilities,” but I knew a girl who had dyslexia in college. She got extra time to take tests, but other than that, she had a completely normal experience. Graduated with a degree in education, and is a phenomenal 4th grade teacher.

Point well taken.

I'd guess that motivation problems are nothing new for him and are part of what led him to come in so late last year. Some people can't help but sabotage themselves. Hopefully, he matures, becomes aware of his tendencies and doesn't let them dictate his future.

Yeah...Holly likely resigns or is let go at the end of this season I think. I was looking up her yearly records, seems like a big dip after the 3rd season. Which Pat passed that summer after her 4th season. I think losing her mentor has had an impact on Holly unfortunately.

I just don't think she's the right coach to keep the program at the same high level as Pat. Great talent has been brought in and she just doesn't seem capable of developing it or coaching/game-planning well in game.
Nah she dipped after she lost players that were actually coached by Pat...

The fact that she actually used the words that Pat would have been proud of how they played last night should have got her fired on the spot.
