If I ever have a child who plays Div 1 football, I will make sure he is prepared to not get his panties in a wad when he screws up and people jump on him for it. In fact, I will hope that he is able to use it as motivation to better himself

Don't worry... I'm sure Neyland won't be close to capacity much this season.


The booing phase is done with... now you can hear the whistling of the wind and, if you listen closely, Gen. Neyland turning over in his grave.

I would tell him that if he doesn't want to give 110% every play, try and be the best he can every down, and to expect criticism from all parties involved with the sport from the fans to the coaches that he needs to take up dress making and don't play sports. You still don't understand what is happening on the Hill right now and until you do and understand that people put about as much in it money and time wise as the players then you will NEVER understand where we are coming from.

The scary part is they don't think they need to improve anything except for not pulling a Barney Fife and "shooting themselves in the foot".

While that's true, that doesn't negate any booing from any fan.

There will be people here, for sure. It'll be a sad sight when the Saban Express shows up into town and people would rather drive thumb-tacks under the nails than see Bama roll over us.

It's hard to tell if the booing is for the players, or for the coaches. I think most rational fans, and even those that aren't, who follow our team are upset with our coaches. The booing occurred after boneheaded, poorly planned, and down right embarrassing plays. Those moments, in my mind, are on the coaches.

Nothing sucks quite as much as watching your program slip into mediocrity while everybody in the nation is watching.
