Showing respect for players

You miss the point. You used the "business" analogy, and I'm simply pointing out that these are 18-22 student athletes you are booing.....not professionals.

That's why, if you boo them, you are a loser.

You know what, I'm done with you. You obviously aren't a smart person. Please do us all a favor and continue to not have sex.

Placing these players on a pedestal and thinking they are above booing or criticism isn't even remotely a correct stance to take. These are MEN, not boys. They are just as responsible for their play as the coaches.

Aw c'mon emain. I guess if we are allowed to boo, he oughtta be allowed to have sex if he wants to.

That hurts. Maybe you'll be "done" going to the games as well. We need folks that will support the team, not act like a crybaby when we lose to a top 5 team.

You can believe what you want. Boo, no boo, but the day that the boo's stop, not to higher level of play, but because of a case of apathy that will be a sad day. In the life cycle of recently fallen programs FSU, Miami, etc. that is next.

Therefore, you reinvent the product or you throw some window dressing on it and try to sell it from another angle. What's it going to be?

Your right, we need all the rich yuppies to dish out the money, never cheer, and tell people to calm down when they are cheering and rooting for their team. The support isn't the problem for the most part, it's the people that want to make the game a social gathering instead of about football.

I know I cheered my ass off today when it was deserved. I happened to be in a good section without a bunch of the toolbags you speak of.

You have to admit though, some of our fanbase is more concerned with how they look after the game than losing their voice during the game. I thought I saw some golf claps during the 1st quarter.

Actually, I view the "18-22" year olds thing (and ive had discussions with my friends on this before) that these guys are still young (i.e. "just kids") and they're not professionals and are not at the point where they should be treated like them. They will make mistakes because they're still young and you have to deal with that as a fan of this sport. If you want flawless polished football, you watch the pros b/c they are professionals with the skills and esperience for that. But they're still kids (i'm in college, it's more of a maturity/real world experience thing, not necessarily an age )

it's kinda like my friends who are pre-meds. They can't be thrown in as doctor b/c they're not experienced or polished enough; that takes more time and experience than they'll get just in 3-4 yrs school. They'll eventually get there but they're not at that point yet, so they'll still make mistakes from time to time, which is why they arent (and shouldnt be) expected to be perfect professionals at this point (and in this example, they're not thrown out there thinking they should be perfect yet)
