Average wasn't that great. 1 MVP (7 All-Star appearances). Career WAR was HALF that of Bonds (and nearly Clemens). Less than 1,000 BBs and more than 2,300 SOs (led NL 3 years and MLB 2 of those 3). And defensively not that good (better than Jeter though who was TERRIBLE)

With all that said, I think he should be in the HOF (and receive votes) if those 2 get in. His HR and RBI #s are obviously HOF worthy (higher average per 162 games than BB in both). And I think being from the DR hurts in this case

The difference between Barry and sammy is that Barry had many many many many skills besides HRs. Sammy did not. Same for McGwire. They’re both out IYAM

Barry was by far the better baseball player. And I agree Sammy was one dimensional but you can’t leave him out IMO. Sammy was the best RF in baseball for a five year stretch.
