Showing respect for players

If they pay the ticket price they have the right to voice their displeasure.
Who has said they don't "have the right"?

All anyone has said is that it is a total embarrassment (as if the coaching / game result wasn't enough).

With any luck, many of the boo-hooing folks WILL choose a new team. Good lord, some of you are embarrassing. Seriously. Stay off our side if you can't handle the bad times.

There is only so many days you can go with wearing orange tinted glasses before you take them off and see things for how they really are right now.

I find it highly presumptious of you to come in here and lecture us regarding our behavior toward a football team you claim no allegiance to. Why don't you go ahead and tell us what school you are a fan of so we can have a clearer picture of who you are and where you're coming from. Or are you a coward in that respect sorta like the muslim terrorists.

Yeah partner I am a terrorist. What a dumba@@. To answer your question I am a GA fan. I just wanted to voice my opinion on the disrespect that is shown by booing players.

Amen to that. We've just got a bunch of red-neck, toothless boo-birds. The closest they've been to being on a football field is outside in the pig pen throwing the nerf football.

if you're a 18-22 year old man and you get your little feelings hurt because you got booed and had to run to mommy, you probably shouldn't be playing football in the first place.

Oooooh and I guess no one has ever booed the team at UGA? That's right, hey everybody UT owns the booing and a UGA fan is trying to show us the light!

What the fans say or do makes absolutely no difference. The smart kid is going to go to the school that gives him the best chance of getting millions in the NFL and right now UT doesn't happen to be that school.

If you're a 10-100 year old man and you got your feelings hurt b/c your team is having a rough year and you have to cry / boo about it to make yourself feel better, you probably aren't wanted in attendance at a football game.

Not to the extent that I have heard the past two weeks from knoxville. Sure there were and still are hard times during the football season. Suck it up as a fan just like your asking the players to do.

I actually have all my teeth. I can spell, I can use correct grammar, Im not a redneck in the sense you're speaking of...and I'm guessing you have no clue the football experience I have. Just like I don't have any idea about your experiences. Do you feel better when you insult people?

I guess some fans are complete fair-weather cry babies.

Dude, you really need to step back and see what is going on. We have no "Team", our starting QB is a joke, and our coaching has been running the same plays for 10 years or more. Yeah, we are just fair weather fans and should all have more Kool-aid to drink like the true fans do.

Let's give out trophys to all the players at the end of the year. Pat em' on their ass and tell them nothings wrong. The blind leading the blind.

One word for that performance from Fulmer to the water boy today, apathetic.

Yeah, lets treat them like it's the YMCA soccer league. Everybody is a winner!!! :)

nobody is getting their feelings hurt. just everybody is pissed that our team is once again a middle of the pack SEC team. booing doesn't make me feel better, i'd love to cheer, but when you're team gives you nothing to cheer about, there's nothing else to do

Guys I am not a Tenn. fan and have been on here a few times just to lurk The reason I am posting is it is crazy to go out and boo college kids is flat out uncalled for, now whether you were at the game or watching on the television, these kids signed up to go to a program to play football and get an education. They are not getting paid millions of dollars and shrugging off losses. Have some respect for these players win or loose they deserve to be treated better than that, some of these guys are using the only way possible to obtain a college degree, so back off with the booing and relax. I want my team to win as bad as the next guy, but at the end of the day it is just a football game. You will win some and lose some, but life brings tougher times than loosing a football game.

thats' the whole problem, that u'r not a fan.......that's why u'r so ignorant.......maybe one day you'll actually have a team to root for, but it'll probably be some loser like Vandy, which is a joke.......so good luck trying to be such a good sport, and rooting for losers......

Let me ask a serious question.........What exactly do you hope to accomplish by booing?

Dude, you have 47 posts. You don't know us. You don't have any right to complain about how we do or do not react to our football team. I have been a Vol fan longer than you have probably been alive. I will boo if I want to and if the recruits don't like it that's just tough. If they'd play like they DESERVE to be on the field this wouldn't even be an issue.

Wrong. You'll see defections left and right before Feb. No good athlete in their right mind would want to play for a bunch of cry baby fans that we have. The booing will continue, recruits will de-committ, and Fulmer will still be here. The only thing you whinners will accomplish is running athletes offer. So, say hello to another sub-par class.

oddly, i kinda agree....the fans giving the program crap hurts it much more than its record, especially when it's become so public that ESPN's commenting nationally on it (no high school teen wants to be associated with that). The fan anger hurts recruiting and the players mostly...that walk out today did that more than anything. And really, all that booing and crying wont change anything except for whether a good player will be here to be booed next year :cray:

yup. I'm a fair weather fan because I'm going to the games and playing for the coaches salary only for them to suck ass
No, you're a fair weather fan because you boo your home team when it's not fair weather. It's really a simple concept.

I think the coaches suck as well, but I'll be damned if I will contribute to disheartening the team at a game. Good lord, some of your rationale is hilarious.

If you don't think that 100,000 people booing doesn't send a message to the current administration that something is wrong within the program then NOTHING will.

He thinks he's Heath Shuler or something.
