This may have been covered, but since Richmond was at first day of workouts yesterday, can he transfer now? Is still in the portal? I didn’t see anything on his Twitter talking about other schools, and i know the coaches were trying to convince him to stay.

He graduates in May. I think he was letting teams know he might be interested in leaving after the semester.

It was reported earlier in the RF that he broke water in the locker room shortly after the game last week. Delivery was complicated, but he gave birth to a healthy 15.6 lb baby boy. A news report had him quoted as saying that he has already started grooming his son for a starting spot on his 2040 Patriots team.

He has been seen around practice this week still carrying a lot of post-birth weight.

Honestly, after Hall got hurt his freshman year, Drew has had no competition at LT or RT. Trey played guard his freshman year, so wasn’t going to be a threat at a tackle position. His biggest competition has been Tatum and Niehaus. I hope he stays, and i hope you’re right

Seems like he may not be the bad teammate some people act like he is if Pruitt still lets him workout with them even after entering the portal. Seems like Pruitt would like him to stay and also shows that Pruitt is serious when he talks about wanting to do what's best for his players IMO. He doesn't seem to want to give up on anyone even if they seem like they may be giving up.

Nathan Peterman was working out AND enrolled in grad school when he grad transferred to Pitt. This portal thing is a vehicle for other schools to talk to players without penalty. As for timing, a huge percentage of grad transfers happen after NSD. Plenty happen after Spring Practices and we landed Brandon Kennedy really late in the game.

Transfer portal had good thoughts but i don't think they thought through the privacy part. A kid may be just feeling out what interest is out there but leaning toward returning but as soon as media blast it out there fanbase is always going to react negatively. THey should find a way to keep names in portal within teams and away from media. If a kid gives approval to announce name then ok but for others it should remain annoymous

Neids is Pruitts guy. Pruitt got him to UGA and then took him to Bama and now TN. Going to be hard for anyone to take him away without a big title upgrade and lots of money. Even then we would prob match

Imo once a kids name goes in the portal they no longer should be able to participate with their current team in any team activities.

I heard SI's Andy Staples mention yesterday on the 104.5 morning show in Nashville that when a student-athlete enters the Transfer Portal the school is then eligible to pull their scholarship. I thought that was quite interesting and wonder if any school has done that yet.

I know the background and history between them and I’m not predicting anything dire, but Saban forked out almost a million per for Lupoi as an ANALYST and he netted over a million as a LB coach before the DC nod. Anyone familiar with the Gattis story can see that Saban is in unfamiliar desperate territory. Might have to fork out more than a generous raise to keep him which IS a familiar sentiment of this fanbase. I think we may have our Garner and Fulmer wouldn’t want that lightning to strike again.

You still got to deal with the players remaining and any recruits looking to sign on. No coach pulls that PR disaster/d!<€ move.

Of course they would.

If a player is in the portal right now most coaches will sign an extra guy (if the 25 allows) to fill their spot on the 85.

No school is going to let any and all transfer guys change their minds that crazy
