I know plenty have talked about it, but I think it bears repeating. The oars are starting to go in the same direction. Pruitt is a great football mind, but that doesn't automatically mean he'll be a great head coach. He's just coming off his rocky rookie season that ended on a bit of a sour note. Add in the long OC search, and this frazzled, tired fan base was back to worrying.
But more than just the no-nonsense Pruitt who just plugged on, you've got the 100% dedicated Fulmer sitting in that office helping Pruitt lay groundwork and clear obstacles. Fulmer projects a calm. He's been there and done that. He knows where the bodies are buried and knows the best places if he's got to bury more. He knows the lay of the land and the curve of the tracks.
Coaches notice that. And even if they're a little unsure how Pruitt will be, Fulmer's been around a long time. He's recruited with the best of them, and it's no different with coaches. You have to assure them it's a good move. Pruitt's got all the potential in the world, but it's never a sure thing. Fulmer adds that ingredient while Pruitt gets all the legs under the table.
tldr; I have no idea how this will turn out, but I know Fulmer will give his last orange drop of blood to see this program get back to winning.
