Glad you were not there, for sure.Dont do it anymore since I got hurt down there. Very Very dangerous job. After I got hurt my friend was doing a job and the pipeline transfer, it blew up and some people died. He said if i had not gotten hurt, i would have probably been on deck or in the water. Only 3 boats with that small company. It is why I really believe everything happens for a reason.
Yea, I don't think they will. This is where having a women's AD was useful. We have a big enough reach to where it shouldn't be difficult at all for us to identify the best coaches/candidates and women's bball is so peppered with Pat's and the LV's influence that damn near all of them are going to have some sort of connection to us. If anything, we may have an overwhelming number of choices. Outside of Geno, I don't think there's a coach of the women's game out there that wouldn't jump at the chance to come to UT. We do have to pay them what they're worth tho.
I choose to believe Fulmer in his Doug Mathews interview. He said he wanted ALL programs to be great and would do whatever it takes. Whatever it took in football led to Chaney getting paid.I suspect they think that anyone can recruit to Tennessee so they'll look for a coach that appears to be a good X's and O's coach at a smaller program. Probably end up paying just shy of a $1mil. If it doesn't work out do it again in 3-4 years. They seem to think that is a winning formula. Meanwhile we get further and further away from being what Pat had it built to and we'll become another LA Tech or Old Dominion. Remember when La Tech and Old Dominion were power house women's programs? Most don't. Who knows though? They might catch lightening in a bottle. The longer it goes though, the less desirable the job becomes.
I hope so. I'll believe we spend $2mil on a women's basketball coach when they trot them out to the podium. No Fulmer may think the best thing to make the Lady Vols great again is to hire an up and comer. We'll see. I know he doesn't want to fire Holly but he's going to have to if he wants to compete for championships again. She's never gonna get it done. Doubt we get to sweet 16 again with her at the helm.
