I agree he'd be better as HC, but his refusing to let his coordinators coach and his inability or unwillingness to evolve and adapt to personnel and opponents is why he failed, not bad breaks. Basically he was too arrogant to believe he might not have everything already figured out. Sure, if he's learned from that and is no longer that way, he'd be a decent HC. But tigers don't often change stripes.Hot take: I agree in part, except that I actually think Butch would be a better HC than OC. I think people soured on him when he got some bad breaks and maybe had some rookie moments in Knoxville, and then he just couldn’t right the ship under the microscope. (And we make fun of him for OL recruiting, but he had some bad breaks there with health, etc.) I suspect that he has learned a lot from his experience at UT and now with Bama. I would not be surprised to see him do really well as a HC somewhere. But I think his skill set is better suited to HC than OC, so I would not be scared of him as Bama OC (though they’d still be good, obviously, just based on personnel).
Head case Malik Henry from Last Chance U, walking on at Nevada

I just hope he lands somewhere outside the SEC. I would hate to see him standing on the sideline of anyone we were playing. I do believe he would fit in well with one of the armed service teams.Hot take: I agree in part, except that I actually think Butch would be a better HC than OC. Although, not really the case with this guy. Schools are about to start using the transfer/walk-ons as another tool to load up. LSU just got Michael Williams to walk-on, he was a high 3-star/low 4-start with Texas. LSU is trying to get 1-2 more transfers/walk-ons and they are 4+ star type guys to pay their own way.
Say, what’s your opinion on Malik Henry from Last Chance U, walking on at Nevada?Although, not really the case with this guy. Schools are about to start using the transfer/walk-ons as another tool to load up, as they won't be counted towards the 25 limit if done correctly. If that became an issue, it wouldn't take the NCAA very long to fix that issue. They would just put a number on walk-on's and penalize teams who go over that number. It's hard to have nice thingsAlthough, not really the case with this guy. Fool proof plan.Although, not really the case with this guy. Medical care and training table...most likely tutoring. But they have to pay tuition and other academic costs. I don’t see a glut of athletes forsaking free rides to help big schools circumvent signing limits.I'm pretty sure there is a limit on walkons. Or at least preferred walkons. And I think they do receive some type of benefits.
it's just how bad they want to go to LSU....that's all. not sure why y'all don't get that....You must be constipated with as FOS as you have been in last 24 hrs. Players that are good and have options don't walk on especially 4 stars. If they are walking on and were/are 4 star players they busted elsewhere or did something to get in trouble. Otherwise they would have scholarships elsewhere
1) That’s because Trey Smith’s true position is Guard. Many folks on this board don’t seem to understand that. He played OT out of necessity last year and was pretty average. If he can get his weight up he will play tackle. Making the jump from highschool to SEC is a lot. Trey Smith even started at guard and moved out later. Morris and Wright has way more potiental than Johnson but experience means something on the Oline.
