That was horrendous, surely the punter could have managed something better than that 🤔 It looked like they pulled an overweight, middle aged spectator with no muscle tone from the stands and put a helmet on him

The onside kick was by the Australian style punter because Janokowski pulled his hamstring trying a 57-yard FG at the end of the first half.

He was their punter. From Australia. He doesn’t kick well from the tee but can drop kick it.

Save for some of Pat’s best teams, I have never watched a more satisfying team in Knoxville. They do everything right. Passing, defense, balanced shooting, consistency, you name it.

And it’s not a stretch to say that Rick getting a team to play at this level is even more of a feat than what Pat did with her superstar recruits?

Just stay healthy and consistent through April.

So why you here? Most of the posters that didn’t want Mullen here went on the angle that historically he hasn’t been a noted recruiter. Not on Urban’s coaching staffs and not at Mississippi State. I’m sure there are some that don’t respect his X’s and O’s, but they’re in the minority. So as an alleged Vol fan, you like practically every post hating on our current coach, but get bitter and butthurt over any perceived slight to the Gators’? You’re dominating.

Not arguing or or being a toot but read your post again where you said "The simple fact is that most punters were kickers at some point." Heck, I was pretty good at Punt, Pass and Kick but during my young one playing days we never had a punter who also was a kicker and I called HS games on radio or PA for 36 years and saw only a handful of kids that did both.

Well, the Ernie Bernie teams were dominant, but they only really had a great starting 5. If something happened, and one starter was not up to par, it affected the whole team a lot more.

There is a lot of depth, and a lot of different ways for this team to win. I'm hoping our depth continues to develop even more as the season progresses. Then, there might be nothing stopping this team but themselves.

It won’t be. But next coach can still be great, and he’s walking into a loaded roster and great support staff. He can win a natty year 1 and hold momentum for a few years at least.
