He was basically my #2 behind Freeze when this whole thing started (though I hadn't considered Briles or Yurcich to be options at that time).

I am fine with him. But to those who think we had many oc that did not want to come to UT. Who that Pruitt interviewed if he offered them 1.9 mil. a year would have turned that down? I think none of them would. I support Pruitt whoever he hires, because he knows the importance of this hire.

No, but I think that’s different. It would be like Sherrer leaving. Since defense is Pruitt’s expertise, he would get the benefit of the doubt.

I don't get that either. What if we wait see who he hires and then we can have another 10,000 of debate between those who hate it and those who love it. That should get us to signing day and then that will get us to Spring practice and then...... well you guys get the picture. It will be Football Time In Tenn, before we know it!!

Oh boy, that's a given regardless of who is hired. This place will be on fire for a while and Prozac sales will double over night. Might want to buy some stock in Eli Lilly before their sales double.

Mumme and Briles systems are a lot different. Briles, and Lebby, are known for running right up the middle out of the spread and have prolific rushing offenses supplemented with air raid passing concepts. Mumme was pure air raid with little commitment to the run.

He also didn't believe in punting on 4th down either. He would go for it on his side of the 50 and just look stupid when they didn't make it. He gave up a bunch of easy scores due to short fields.
