I'm sorry but what is it that you think he said?

He said he won't rule ANYTHING out, including from within because doesn't know who the hire will be.

How does that become
"Larry says we're promoting from within", so easily?
And why does everyone believe everything he says EXCEPT for when he clearly states that he doesn't know and giving opinions on options only.
That part, people have no problem overlooking. Just puzzling.
It's amazing how the game of telephone even happens when people are reading quotes. Some people just hear and see what they want to. Selective hearing, selective reading.

Explain to me why he would retire - he is winning National Championships almost every year? He basically doesn’t have to do anything but let the Cogs move. The team is self sufficient as far as the moving parts go and he just puts his input in. I doubt he stresses very much.
Because most people regardless of success do want to enjoy their family and life. Even though he is pretty set, he still has to grind. It's not like the team runs itself.

Lebby and Tee split the OC salary, we get two coaches for the price of one!

spinmaster lol

Yea they can get that experience at schools that can't pay their OC well into 7 digits
I don’t see it that way. Take Matt Nagy, the HC of the Bears. He was basically a nobody until Doug Pederson left the chiefs for the eagles and he stepped in and made a name for himself for the chiefs and has made that bears offense and trubisky look legit.

If we added Lebby/Tee I have no idea what our offense would look like but they would definitely increase our ability to recruit on that side of the ball. Both can grind that recruiting trail. It's probably what Pruitt likes about Lebby. He is a supposedly a bulldog when it come to that stuff

I don't know much but I'm pretty sure the 95% thing was bs or talking about Yurcich. That deal fell through and the search started over.
You're probably right and they may have been waiting on his bowl game to announce. Way too much time to rethink the decision and more options came open for him. If you're gonna make a hire, cut the cord and bring them on board immediately. On the other hand, that plan worked great for Diaz at Temple and FSU :cool:.

As a Bears fan I was excited about the hire and he still exceeded expectations (with a lil boost from Gruden). But John Fox and Marc Trestman were his lead-ins. So it didn’t take much.

It only confirmed that he didn't conduct interviews over the holidays.

Neither they, nor we, know if he was examining notes from previous interviews, phone convos with agents, planning with staff for upcoming season, final examinations of roster needs and departures etc:
Unless VQ spent their holidays with Pruitt, I would not over analyzing that comment.
