I'm not thrilled with the Lebby hire, I think we can get more experienced guys, but he could end up being great at UT. He certainly has the background working under Briles system, he's just young. And I'm good with Tee being on staff in some capacity for recruiting but don't want him as OC calling plays.

In all, the quarterbacks room helped UCF break the single-season record for rushing yards with 3,318, guide the offense to 545.4 yards of total offense per game to rank third nationally and finish in the top 30 in the country with 269 yards passing per game in 2018.

He came to Orlando after one season as offensive coordinator at Southeastern University in Lakeland. Lebby helped lead Southeastern to a 5-0 conference mark and a berth in the NAIA playoffs last season. Southeastern had the No. 1 scoring offense and the No. 3 total offense in the NAIA in 2017.

Prior to joining the Southeastern staff, Lebby served in various capacities on the football staff at Baylor. He was the passing game coordinator and offensive recruiting coordinator for two years. He coached the running backs for five years. Prior to those roles, Lebby was the assistant director of football operations in charge of offensive quality control, while also serving as the team's liaison to the NFL.

In five seasons as running backs coach, Lebby coached five 1,000-yard rushers. Baylor's 2015 squad ranked No. 2 in the nation in rushing offense, while two Bears went over 1,000 yards that season. Lebby earned 2013 FootballScoop Running Backs Coach of the Year honors after coaching Baylor's first back-to-back 1,000 yard rusher.

But he’s called plays. NAIA level...but experience. No matter how sexy the hire, RESULTS are the final determinant on Pruitt.

Sure the only thing that matters is what he does when games start but he won't win the presser.
This board argued Helton was a great hire and for the same reasons this one isn't either on paper

Hot take: Saban is retiring after the championship game. That’s why no OC has been named. He’s told a couple of coaches; explains Key going to GT. Enos to UT, thus the secrecy.
I actually believe this....I think Saban is ready to retire, which is why I am pulling for Bama. The quicker the better. They will get Dabo real quick too.

Seems like this would handle the QB/OC and RB coach positions and free up a spot for another coach.

I love that in this scenario Alabama doesn’t take our HC but instead we take their OC.
I don't think that Bama would want an unproven Pruitt....they will go after Dabo or another established coach. I think this will be the last year for the Bama Clemson game for a while if this happens.

Wonder how many posters were on Gridscape back in the late 90's . Concept was very similar in that there was a bb board, general board and a recruiting board. Chuck (Grid) ran a good site and it was policed rather well. Eventually he sold it and it became Inside Tennessee, then Scout purchased it and is now defunct.

I was on the early 2000s version of it when I was an undergrad and first started following recruiting.

I was somewhat fascinated by Tennstud’s posts.

Lebby gonna be our OC? Whelp that'll be strike one against Pruitt for me. Different coach but same bargain bin hires going on. They better not pay this dude anything close to a mil.
Lebby and Tee split the OC salary, we get two coaches for the price of one!

Explain to me why he would retire - he is winning National Championships almost every year? He basically doesn’t have to do anything but let the Cogs move. The team is self sufficient as far as the moving parts go and he just puts his input in. I doubt he stresses very much.

I dont buy that.....why cant he work during the holidays.....every other head coach was working to get better. At 5-7, there are no breaks...
Don't think he's had a break since he got here. Last year he basically slept in his office the first few months. He can take some time off during the holidays. Can't recruit anyway. And sometimes people need to reset.

Did I miss something? All of a sudden it it "THE Lebby hire," not the possibility of hiring him. Did someone bring some info a few pages back and I just overlooked it?
