The fustercluck has been created by the media and the impatient fanbase IMO
Maybe so, but this isn’t normal. Other schools had openings much later and made hires much sooner.

Like I said, it doesn’t mean we’ll make a worse hire than those schools. But it does point to confusion - or lack of focus - in the search.

I suppose my opinion is colored by the fact that I believe Yurcich turned us down.

maybe i've not been looking in the right places, but in all the college football coverage i've watched the last week or so, and all the coaching hires, vacancies coming open etc....i've not heard one thing from anyone about our OC search.

the only media doing anything with this fustercluck is the media that panders to this fan base, and knows they can say inflamatory things and get a reaction.

past that......honestly, i don't think anyone cares outside of this fanbase.

hiring an OC is literally just a blurb on the scroll at the bottom of the screen. there will be no press conference or interviews.

we care cause we care. that's it.

I don’t disagree with that

Thats the media I am referring to. Most of them are throwing **** against the wall like D4H and praying that it creates traffic

If Yurcich turned down that offer that was floated around and took the offer at OSU, we may as well burn the program to the ground....................with that said, I dont think we offered that and it was turned down.

Ehh for us there will probably be more then a normal OC hire just because the media hates us.

I don't think there is some conspiracy about the OC already being hired or this is some elaborate plan but I do think there is a little of "learning" going on from CJP. Similar to Saban in the article below. I imagine CJP has a list of 5 or so names and it will be one of those guys, he is just being measured. Plus, he is trying to learn so he can prepare his teams better for when they face similar styles.

These two stories show how serious Nick Saban is about beating LSU - FootballScoop

So, with a month to prepare for his second chance with LSU, Saban did something that, depending on your viewpoint, fell somewhere on the spectrum from “genius” to “underhanded.” He brought in Gary Crowton, fresh out of a job as Maryland’s offensive coordinator, for a job interview that wasn’t really a job interview. Before his one-season stint at Maryland, Crowton was LSU’s offensive coordinator from 2007-10. Crowton didn’t get the job, but Saban got to pick the brain of one of the most educated subjects on his next opponent’s attack.

“I don’t know if he was interviewing me or trying to get information on LSU,” Crowton told Sports Illustrated.

Whatever information Saban did or did not glean from Crowton, it worked. LSU didn’t cross midfield as Alabama rolled 21-0, handing Saban his second of five (and counting) national championships in crimson.

Or maybe not, i don't know

Just bring me a guy who can

1. Develop QB's
2. Develop and offensive identity
3. Have a proper Gameplan
4. Make in game adjustments to what the defense is doing.
5. Put the ball in the hands of playmakers

That shouldn't be too hard, right? Right?!

6. Celebrate responsibly with cornbread swimming in Cutty Sark.

I only read articles.....

J/k
*Firesup RockyTop Insider*. You gonna learn today!!!

I legit think Kitchens was Pruitt's #1, his success at Cleveland though will keep him in the NFL. That's why (according to Brice/Price) Canada & Sark got talked with this week.

My opinion obviously, so it is what it is, but to me you only drag this out for 40+ days if your top choice hasn't said "No"

oh, well i just don't care about any of that. lol.

we get enough of the "reaction" stuff in here, no need to expose myself to any more of it just because they're supposedly "journalists"

as soon as i start reading or hearing what i think are hot takes, i just tune out all together.

I hope he wasnt because there was absolutely no way that Kitchens was going to leave the NFL with the success he has had. Would be a demotion

The good thing is if for some reason Pruitt doesn't realize what a bad hire can mean his boss can definitely advise him about that - he knows getting it right is important.

Did either of you read the article? Have you paid attention to what the Browns have done since he took over as the OC?

I'll say it again. He will be an NFL coach in some capacity in 2019.
I’m going off what Paul K reported on 104.5 the zone. His report may have been from this article but he presented it on the radio as this block will limit Kitchens to the option of the new Cleveland HC. They speculated a new HC other than the current interim HC would likely leave Kitchens high and dry with no NFL options.

I mean I dont care really either, but that's generating a ton of narratives and making the entire situation look much worse than it is IMO. Sunshine and rainbows bitches
