Pretty much what everything on here is. Ulysses’s and Newt’s efforts notwithstanding. 😎

chicken/egg.

i've already said i think Emmit was great, he's #2 for me. i just don't have an delusions. if he was lining up behind the Lions O line, instead of that one, we're not having this coversation at all.....

Not in top 5 for me, I watched the games, quite a few in person. He was not one of the best I don't care what his 15 seasons of stats say.

Then people should watch all those other divisions if all they care about are playoffs.

I don’t understand the need to keep tinkering with what is already the best sport so that it can be more like a bunch of inferior sports.
If we didnt tinker there would be no forward pass, the number 1 team would still be tied to a bowl having to play number 19 arkansas in the old southwest conference while number 2 takes on Rutgers in the gator bowl

If you're point is simply that Smith being a good back helped the OL become Pro Bowlers, I don't disagree. If you're point is that the OL was -only- Pro Bowlers because of Smith, I disagree.

Mainly because as I've already pointed out Dallas was successful before and even after Smith as a good/great rushing offense. Despite a variety of coaching changes.

Erik Williams would’ve been a Pro Bowler if another team had the foresight. Generational talent. Larry Allen later on. Stepnoski if he landed on the right squad. No one else on that line sniffs Hawaii unless Tuinei takes them home to visit.

True. But still, I’ve never watched college football and thought to myself, “I wish this was more like the NFL.”

Whoa now don't forget to add yourself into that little tribunal.
I’m cursed with knowing what I’m talking about. I don’t resort to calling others delusional because they disagree. Let the pros handle that. 😉

that's how i heard your post lol.

i hated those Dallas teams. but you don't do what they did w/out having a whole lot of great. Emmit was great. just not the greatest. Payton was the greates i ever saw. Barry did more with less. Emmit did more with more.

Name another major sport in any conference/league that doesn't have a playoff.

Honestly the playoffs haven't proven better than the BCS to me at this point...I think it is a dumb idea.

It will probably be Clemson and Bama next year too. Clemson is returning pretty much everyone on offense and almost all their skill guys are currently FR or SO’s.

They return almost everyone on D minus the DL, but they are loaded there with Xavier Thomas, Juston Foster, and others.

That's just depressing. CFB needs a Cinderella (even a stacked one) to rise up and give us something different. There's no better way to kill an old sport than to have the same two teams dominate year in and year out.
