If Barry Sanders and Emmitt switched places and Barry had played on those Cowboy teams with those OLs...deer lord I cannot imagine how many yards he would have had. 😲 He played behind horrid OLs on horrid teams. Emmitt would have been toast on those Detroit teams.

Revisionist history. Those Lion OL’s had high draft picks blocking for a RUN AND SHOOT. Sanders flourished in that single back set. Suited his dynamic running style. When Fontes started introducing blocking backs and tight ends it cramped his style. If Detroit had drafted Emmitt a year after instead of Sanders, they don’t install the run and shoot. Emmitt kept coming at you and didn’t lose yards. His OL fed off that. There were always Nate Newton’s and Mark Tuinei’s and Kevin Gogan’s our there. They weren’t great until they blocked for Smith. Sanders most gifted RUNNER imo. Emmitt Smith best running back.

F Emmitt Smith and his overrated gator ass.

I do love me some Earl Campbell. In my lifetime, 40+ years watching football, I have never seen a more powerful runner. Still, in the current age of the NFL, Sweetness would be my pick.
I have an Earl Campbell story. After football, Campbell put his name on a brand of smoked sausage and he came to our office in Dallas looking for distribution. The man could barely walk because he couldn't bend his knees. This guy was one of the best RB's in football and he walked like he was a 100 years old. Football is brutal on bones.

Pretty crazy when everyone complains about how sark sucked in the red zone lol.
you're talking about the people of Atlanta here. Not exactly the sharpest tools in the shed. They see the same accident over and over on 85/75/20 and proceed to do the same dumb s**t that causes those accidents because they're idiots. Any gripe an Atlanta fan has, I assume the opposite is true.

Put Barry Sanders on the cowboy teams of the 90’s, with that offensive line he would have destroyed the rushing record.
They would have played accordingly. His freestyle rushing didn’t flatter his blockers.
