Those “couple more years” would have delayed the inevitable. Our recruiting didn’t end when Jim Donnan pried away Garner. Kevin Ramsey kept that train going and Donnan ended up snapping him up too. In both cases he sold it by making them on-field coaches. Garner was a decent, if not great DL coach but Ramsey only lasted one season as the freaking DC! Fulmer’s downfall began when he started chasing the star system exclusively instead of best matches to his team.

I sure will be glad when we can discuss coaches at any level and not have Butch's name come up.. He's gone folks, leave it be..

I’ll have to try that. If you haven’t already, go for the Jersey Mike’s sub in a tub. I always go for the cooked meats but still get it Mike’s way but hold the onions.

100% admire. They stole a title winning coach and almost beat Clemson in his first year and are recruiting their asses off. They are going to be scary real quick.

I'm pretty sure we would hve loved a top 3 of Kelly, Frost and Mullen instead Mullen was out top hope and their 3rd on list.

Strongly doubt the truth of 3- We kept hearing how open Frost was to jobs OTHER than Nebraska and he went home in a nanosecond. Also Mullen didn’t load up on homerun assistants...he took two of OURS off the unemployment line. If he’d have said yes, Frost could have really tricked up his coaching staff and they wouldn’t have bucked one iota. Mullen was third choice and was waiting for it.
