Exactly. and outside of A&M which is extremely rare, how many coaches hire the proven guy? GA hired Smart. Vols hired Pruitt. OU hired Riley. None of those guys were proven and that's three of the top jobs in the country. Mehlen did a good job for Ms State, but even he isn't a proven championship coach. Proven coaches at top jobs don't jump ship. It's not like Peterson is going to come to Florida. Not happening. They would have to take a Chance on someone. It will be very unlikely they pull a proven coach with a good situation this late in the game.
Another deal that you should expect to hear some on is James Coley and the Miami OC job. He has family in that area. He and his wife both are from there. Coley turned more money and the Texas AM OC job last year because his family loves Athens. He is an elite recruiter for this staff, so it will not be about money. CKS will pay him to stay, if he were to leave it will be about location. I know this for fact, he really likes Athens and this roster.
Not when you have a stable athletic department. They ain’t Tennessee.
I think your true feelings on Mehlen are starting to rise to the surface imo

I could see Florida hiring Babers if Mullen left.
