I think it’s funny how everyone uses Doug Matthews, Houston Kress, the kid that washed Fulmer’s golf balls during the ‘98 championship season or fetched his Krispy Kreme doughnuts as factual reporters. I can fully believe that Pruitt is being slow played like a sucker probably due to his gruff interactions in the past at Alabama and Georgia. If he promotes someone on staff he’s going to look like an idiot because he’s kept the fan base and media at bay for what—to say “oh damn people I just decided Will Friend was the answer at OC.” Bullcrap. If he screws this up that’s not going to look good for him going forward. I’m not saying fire him, but it’s a big strike.

Matthews statement about it being 95% done is crap. He doesn’t know anything. I trust 24/7 and the Rivals guys. The hell with all the offensive style and if he and Pruitt will go golfing and hold hands. You hire a guy that can put up points and yards. I don’t blame Yurcich for going to Ohio State..anyone else with a brain would go to Ohio State. We are short on talent here...what OC wants to come to get fired after one year? You have a crap line with a few decent backs and receivers that can’t run by anyone. You are almost going to have to overpay. It’s easy when your Yurcich—your from there and Ohio State is loaded with talent. If I’m Pruitt and he can get an OC and the hold up is bringing another staffer you make the move. Why should anyone on the staff be untouchable?

If we are being slow played, I feel it is by Freddie Kitchens waiting to see if he acquires a NFL coaching gig. Hopefully he won't get an NFL opportunity and becomes OC at our fine university. I really like what he's done with the Browns this year. He seems to be very creative.
Kitchens is interviewing for the HC job in Cleveland and is basically a lock to be the offensive coordinator for whatever HC come in there. That’s a pipe dream.

One there was a perception that talent was lacking. Now that is gone and coming off big yr.

2 - Kelly was always going to west coast.

3 - frost didn't turn them down. He wanted his entire staff and Florida said no. They could have hadn't him if they would take his staff

I'm pretty sure we would hve loved a top 3 of Kelly, Frost and Mullen instead Mullen was out top hope and their 3rd on list.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong on point 3. But regardless, who would they get? You're acting like any big time coach would just jump ship and take the Florida job. It doesn't happen. Jimbo Fisher going to A&M is extremely rare. Whoever they hired they would be taking a chance at someone at a smaller school taking a step up. You're acting like they can just go hire Tom Herman or something. Wouldn't happen.

Chip turned them down. Frost turned them down. They got their third choice, Mullen. And you can't compare it to TN's search with Bahama John running the show. His top target was Schiano. Who cares what he thinks. I'd have been curious to see our list if Fulmer was the AD from the beginning. but regardless, if Mullen stays at Florida, we'll see who ends up being better, him or Pruitt. My money's on the latter.

It's a lock for a Defensive HC but not with a McCarthy type that calls their own plays. Although he will probably be in high demand elsewhere with so many jobs open
