Alright, you sold me...Pruitt, GO GET COLEY!

Double his salary and lets roll...

This works for me. Coley owns recruiting in Florida mainly South Florida. Look how many past 4 and 5 stars and present/past NFL players Coley was involved with. Would worry me about him being OC maybe but as far as recruiting mainly South Florida nobody does it better than Coley. Georgia fans would flip out if Vols stole Coley trust me!

Where will West Virginia turn after Dana Holgorsen's exit? Here are 5 potential replacements

The meat from this link: These 5 guys most likely to move into a big time job this year

You'd think Temple would snatch one of these guys, I mean they have the money now amirite?

1. Luke Fickell, Cincinnati
The Bearcats coach has strong ties to the region from a career anchored in Ohio. He’s also got a strong relationship with Gordon Gee, the WVU president who came from Ohio State. Gee was president during Fickell’s interim stint there. And with Lyons coming from Alabama, a defensive-minded coach fits a winning formula. His 11-2 season at Cincinnati showed his high-end potential as a coach.

2. Neal Brown, Troy
He’s destined to be the coach atop next year’s Hot Coach lists, as he’s won 10 games for three consecutive seasons. It’s a surprise he hasn’t been tabbed already, as Troy pulled seismic upsets of LSU in 2017 and Nebraska in 2018. He’ll be strongly considered here.

3. Jason Candle, Toledo
He won the MAC in 2017 and has consistently produced and called high-ended offenses as both a coordinator and coach. He’s 28-13 as a head coach, and his old boss Matt Campbell’s success in the Big 12 would portend a strong stint at WVU for Candle. Toledo has been in the top 20 in scoring offense all three of Candle’s seasons as head coach, including No. 9 this season. He’s a Pittsburgh native, with strong recruiting ties to the city that’s the closest major metropolitan area to Morgantown.

4. Mike Norvell, Memphis
He’s an intriguing name, as the consistent winning and offensive production despite rampant staff turnover has been impressive. Norvell may be waiting for something bigger, as he makes more than $2.5 million. That’s made him a bit patient about moving, and WVU could end up outside of his geographic comfort zone.

5. Seth Littrell, North Texas
He’s gone 18-9 the past two seasons and brings a familiar Air Raid style, as he’s also from the Mike Leach coaching tree. Littrell has built himself into a coveted candidate, as interest this year from Kansas State, Texas Tech, Kansas and Colorado showed. The issue with him at West Virginia is that he’s a tricky regional fit.

Serious question...you're talking like Coley is some hotshot amazing OC that everyone's dying to hire to call plays...Where is this coming from? He's 45yo and previously was an OC at FSU and Miami for a couple seasons each, and then WR coach at UGA for a couple years according to his bio. If he's so great why did Jimbo let him go? Why didn't Richt hire him at Miami?
Coley's great Ron, probably the greatest OC in the history of OC's. Cheney must be absolutely horrible since he was the first OC ever to have 4 different players to rush for 1000 yards each over back to back seasons. I'll be happy to take Cheney off of their hands in order to allow Coley to become the full time OC there.

Idk it’s really easy to pick at him Bc he never won a national title but Georgia had some very good teams and years under him.
oh, i know. more coming from the UGA perspective, and i didn't really convey that in my post. so far, they're the same guy, with the one excepiton maybe being Kirby's ability to recruit at an even higher level, so far, than Richt did.

i'm definitely not sold on Kirby being some elite coach. he's been the benefactor of inheriting a pretty good roster, and cashing in on being Nick Saban's boy for so many years.

we're still a year or two away, but i think we'll be able to stand and look UGA and FL eye to eye on talent in a couple years, and we'll see how it shakes out. i've been one to talk about about "wait and see" with pruitt and i have no reason not to continue to feel that way.

but i do just have a feeling that there's alot more to pruitt, substance wise, discipline wise, than meets the eye. and that, i think/hope, will pay dividends.

for now, it's all about jimmy's and joe's tho

UGA did not look interested in that game in the first half. Texas has a good coach on their hands. I think LSU will regret not pushing more for him, at least in the long term. I really like how their DC, Orlando, called that game.

I think the targeting rule needs to be addressed this off-season.

Also, I heard Blackledge state that he thinks Clemson going against Bama again (four years in a row) is good for college FB, but he didn't really give a solid reason. I don't agree, but can anyone maybe explain to me what point he was trying to make?

It seems like his recruiting is mostly what folks are coveting and paying him to do. He went to FSU, coached at HS in Miami and then at FSU and Miami. My guess is Smart wants Cheney to be the OC calling plays with his experience and Coley to be the ace recruiter but had to pay him and give him title to keep him around. Makes sense.

I'm back wanting Cheney in Knoxville as OC. Let Smart promote the recruiter ace who's not as good calling plays. I like that outcome. Or even better, Smart goes and gets an outsider to be OC and Coley gets pissed and leaves. Yes, lets do that instead!

Any competent coach should have won at least 2 titles during his run there with all that talent.
Ugly has only one modern title. They haven’t always been super committed to winning titles there with money and admin. They stil are behind in a few areas like that. Very similar to Florida in ways but Florida hires 2 of the best college coaches ever basically back to back.

College football needs storylines bad. It’s one thing the NfL has over them. Bama clemson gives them that which is it good. But yes It wouldn’t surprise me if Texas is in the playoff in the next year or so.
