Your assumption is incorrect which leads to your faulty determination.
We have not already made a hire. When we do it will leak.
It’s not going to be internal because that decision would have already been announced. You don’t wait a month to hire guys you’ve already had on campus.
and you're accusing others of talking out their backsides?? lol.I want to believe but that is nothing more than speculation. Pruitt has never stated that he wouldn’t promote from within and he is clearly in no hurry to make a hire which suggests that he has already made one. If it were anyone outside of UT it would have already leaked
There’s no reason to wait if Will friend or Joe Osovet is your OC and he’s already on staff. None. And we wouldn’t be interviewing all these other candidates.Who’s to suggest that Pruitt is in any hurry to make an announcement? None of his public statements seem to suggest the opposite
Bump1. Smart gave their hotshot recruiter "Co/OC" title to keep him on staff after last season.
2. Smart stripped Chaney of the QB coaching duties and gave them to this hot shot recruiter to keep him.
3. Chaney still calls plays but isn't happy about being a "co-OC and not happy about not coaching the QB's.
4 Money. He makes over $300k less than Helton did.
5. His contract ends in January, and they still haven't worked out a new deal.
Its Jim Chaney.
I think he’s untouchable on the offensive line. Moving him to TE coach or RB coach just to keep him on staff is a demotion. Bringing in Pittman would just be a slap in the face.
It just ain’t gonna happen. (For many reasons.)
see, i don't think that's how he'd view it. i don't think Friend is taking, or would take better said, the stance of "either i'm the OL coach or nothing". he doesn't want the OC job, so if we're hirining someone from the outside and part of the deal is they have to bring their own OL coach, i think Friend has to be somewhat prepared for the idea that some shuffling may have to be done.I think he’s untouchable on the offensive line. I don’t think Pruitt would even consider the idea.see, i don't think that's how he'd view it. i don't think Friend is taking, or would take better said, the stance of "either i'm the OL coach or nothing". he doesn't want the OC job, so if we're hirining someone from the outside and part of the deal is they have to bring their own OL coach, i think Friend has to be somewhat prepared for the idea that some shuffling may have to be done.
i don't think he'd hamstring Pruitt with that kind of ultimatum.
