This line of thinking is beyond me. I can't see how anyone who keeps up at all with the NFL, and thereby knows the precipitous decline the Falcons offense exhibited under his tutelage, would then think he's a desirable OC. This is not like head coaches who failed at the pro level but then excelled in college; the HC position requires a myriad of other skills apart from playcalling, and is profoundly different at the pro level than the college one. Being a coordinator, conversely, is, unless I'm missing something, largely the same at both levels: you're either good at getting results with the players you're given, or you're not.Sark would be a homerun hire at Tennessee.
Hope he is the guy, if he is not so be it. Just seems to make a lot of sense for him and Pruitt to be in same staff again. Both know what’s expected of each side of the ball & recruting.
I agree and would like the hire, but my question is, would Sark have too strong of a personality and possibility butt heads with Pruitt? Especially since he has “been a HC before at a big time Power 5 school and coordinator in the NFL”. I wonder what he would do if Pruitt jumped his tail like he did Helton on the sideline.....Sark would be a homerun hire at Tennessee.

Good question, I think here is your answer.I agree and would like the hire, but my question is, would Sark have too strong of a personality and possibility butt heads with Pruitt? That’s where I am. I’m a Falcons fan and am glad they let him go. Yes they ended up 10th in scoring but they have top 5 offensive NFL talent and Sark was a huge step back from Shanahan with basically the same team. The Atlanta PPG dropped by double digits. With that said, some people are more suited to the college game and he does have tremendous experience including as a head coach of a major program and an NFL offensive coordinator. As long as his personal issues are behind him he would be a solid hire and likely not one that would become a head coach again in the next 3 or 4 years. You thought the same about Schiano...
Given the risks with hiring him, Id think he would be a good (not great) hire. Im not as big of a fan of the hire as some but he has big time experience, which is sorely needed with this staff. Id much rather have him than others (Friend)...
Only worked together OC/DC, one game, correct? But yeah, should know his personality.@Checkerboard_Vol
I think if your a great coach in any level of football, you have a strong personality. It’s very common. And at least Pruitt has worked with Sark and knows what he would be getting and if he could work with him if he chooses him.
I’m not even talking about this year. Last year he had Freeman all year and, frankly, had a bad year. Sark had good moments this year like the first New Orleans game (even though it was a loss) and had some bad like the Philly game. There’s a reason they let him go though. Granted, Shanahan was one of the best offensive coordinators I’ve seen so almost anyone was bound to be some kind of step back.@hUTch2002
Do you not think loosing Freeman had a major effect on this year offensive output that was still even minus Freeman in the top 10?
