I'm teachable. My original position is that I didn't want him because he's been bad in Atlanta. Admittedly, I don't watch the falcons very much and was just parroting what everyone around me says (I live in Atlanta). They wanted him gone. I also remembered the Bama fans complaining about him after they lost to Clemson.
But the guys on here told me about his numbers with the falcons, which are actually very good in spite of his OL being injured and terrible and losing his starting RB. They also pointed to the points he put up as an OC at Washington and USC.
So he's a lot better than I realized. I also think he checks a lot of boxes. He has experience at a high level and so I feel that he is someone that Pruitt could trust to basically be the head coach of the offense. He's someone with enough experience who could probably put his foot down as well, if necessary. I think Pruitt needs someone like that. He's also someone with HC experience who could help Pruitt in many areas. He's also known to be a very good recruiter. So for these reasons I think he would be an excellent hire.
While I like the idea of Yurcich if he indeed came here and was allowed to do his thing, I think that a lot can be said for simply hiring a guy with experience who you can trust to run the show. That's exactly what Kirby did with Cheney. Cheney isn't one of the young up and coming, high flying offense guys. He's just a good play caller with a lot of experience. Sark could be a better version of Cheney here.
Yep, lets ride.Those quotes from Gundy about his guys not working long hours and stuff makes me wonder about Yurcich’s compatibility with Pruitt. Sark has familiarity with the “Saban-level” demand that Pruitt apparently puts on his staff. Plus, Sark is a way better (or at least more proven) recruiter than Yurcich, and he knows how to recruit in the SEC. Jimmy’s and joes... He wouldn’t have gotten an NFL job if he couldn’t call plays, so he’s definitely capable, and offensive playcalling rarely decides SEC games. It’s different out west where everyone’s the same size and speed/scheme rules, but it doesn’t translate. Just look at OU vs Bama. If we’re gonna compete for SEC titles it’s about recruiting and weight room first and foremost. I say hire Sark; put him on the trail and let’s round out this class.
Acceptable.I'm sorry @BaldBiker ! Dont kill me!
Technically I stated he was a known murderer, not a convicted one so.....
@drvenner
I agree..What about you @drvennerThose quotes from Gundy about his guys not working long hours and stuff makes me wonder about Yurcich’s compatibility with Pruitt. I've never drank alcohol. You don't want me puking all over your house.
I think someone posted a twitter remark that showed that coaches can move without sitting out a year. Players should be able to do the same.Welp..then it's gonna be your turn to be the hated negavol if it happens. C'mon man the guy is not stupid, he is a good OC. I know you want the shiny new guy, but I do think Osovet will get his chance...just be patient. I want a guy that can be a little versatile not a pure system guy.
What do you think @drvenner
My good friend is a dope DJ. He and another DJ are throwing a party at Niido downtown. I'll be eating at Adele's with the wifey and then headed over for Belvedere, champagne, and dancing until the wee hours.What’s everyone doing for NYE?
I think you quoted the wrong post, but yeah I think there needs to be some more rules restricting coach movement to be more fair to players. I think players should think more about this, and make sure to pick a school they like, not just the coaching staff. There is no guarantee that any coach can not be fired, or move on for a lot of other reasons.I think someone posted a twitter remark that showed that coaches can move without sitting out a year. Players should be able to do the same.
But what about the lower tier guys that signed so they wouldn't get bumped from the class. If you allow kids to leave during a coaching change you should also allow coaches to can whoever they want no matter if they are signed or not.In situations like Temple and Miamis with this Manny Diaz mess...The kids who signed early should be released from their LOIs. I do think that should be confined to just HC moves though.
Whaddya think about it @drvenner
Doing paperwork, and watching for OC "news".
I ain't no grammar nazi, but it is hilarious that you managed to misuse variations of that word twice
