Would you be surprised to know that Mariota has only missed 3 starts in his career? He undoubtedly gets hurt a lot, but he also bounces back and the guys in that locker room love him!Mariota will start next season but he's done as a Titan after 2019. Vrabel and JRob aren't gonna hitch their wagons to Mr. Glass.
Idk man. I think you’re putting too much on some outside personality. Mullen’s team play hard. They did at Mississippi state and Florida did the same this year. This squad would have rolled completely over with that Butch sounding goober. Hell man Pruitt is an elite motivator and he barely aroused enough fight to win.
Thanks Brandon. But he finished all the games and chose not to play in the bowl game. I don't consider that quitting. By these terms, it should be an epidemic of mass players choosing not to play in meaningless bowl games. Now we all know Vic would have played if he were an underclassman but as a 5th year SR....the risk is to great. Soooooo did Will Grier quit West Virginia? Soooooo did Christian McCaffrey quit Stanford? Soooooo Ed Oliver quit Houston? Soooooo Deebo Samuel quit South Carolina? And N'Keal Harry quit Arizona State?
Players in New Year’s Six bowls are doing the same, with at least three Michigan Wolverines not playing in the Peach Bowl. It’s not even just a bowl game thing at this point. Ohio State’s Nick Bosaannounced midseason that he wouldn’t attempt to battle back from injury just to play in college games again.
Former Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith tore his ACL and LCL in the 2016 Fiesta Bowl, and it cost him several million dollars.
Football is a business, even though players aren’t paid until the NFL. Sitting out a bowl game is about protecting millions of dollars or even thousands.
It seemed like Pruitt tried to hype them up before the Mizzou game. Remember when he stopped the vol walk and told the players to take it in? I thought we were about to roll. Don’t know how that didn’t get them ready to go.Idk man. I think you’re putting too much on some outside personality. Mullen’s team play hard. I don’t want to get into the argument again but my biggest knock on Pruitt is the way he let the team quit the last two games. I know we disagree on it completely but job #1 to me for a coach is keeping your team together. During bad or good.
Helton was definitely checked out. No doubt about it. Dude was in talks after the Missouri game at least. It seemed like Pruitt tried to hype them up before the Mizzou game. Vandy was awful and I have no idea what happened there. Helton checking out definitely didn’t help
Sorry to hear that man. I’ve had fairly severe Crohns that’s nearly taken my life a couple of times now. Prayers for you and the family.A very sincere thank you.
I've had half a banana in the last 2 days and that still caused severe pain. I'm slowly starving and all my hopes are based on a "might help some" surgery and finding a pain med combination that does any good at all.
Hadn't said a whole lot on here until recently.
Just accepting the inevitable I guess and hope anyone else retrieves something/anything helpful from my openness.
Pruitt didn't let em quit. That is bullcrap. That squad had no damn heart, or not enough to make a difference, they didn't want to play anymore..that's not on Pruitt, that is absolutely not who he is, it is the opposite of who he is..thats 100% on the team..period.Idk man. Other than the SC game he seemed checked out all year. His play calling rarely had much rhyme or reason. Seems pretty clear the combination of a bad oline with a HC that wouldn’t leave him alone led to a toxic situation and he was ready to go pretty early on.Helton was definitely checked out. No doubt about it. Dude was in talks after the Missouri game at least.
Where you at @DD4ME? I know you got another good gif for this overwrought purple mess..Pruitt didn't let em quit. That is bullcrap. I told you guys all year the team had too many quitters, you hate me for it, but PLAYERS, COACHES, MEDIA...hell a little bit of everybody backed up what I was saying all along. I was proven right.
Now you want to blame Pruitt for the garbage he had to deal with out of the large group bunch of soft lazy losers all year? Give me a f'n break man...that is stupid, or completely disingenous.
Yea it was a weird situation.Other than the SC game he seemed checked out all year. His play calling rarely had much rhyme or reason. Seems pretty clear the combination of a bad oline with a HC that wouldn’t leave him alone led to a toxic situation and he was ready to go pretty early on.

My biggest criticism of Pruitt is being so wrong on Helton.Yea it was a weird situation.
Weird that he started off in the booth then went down to the field. I think one of them liked KC better than the other which is why the reps were so even all year, that never happens. Then hearing how miserable him and his family were.
Bad deal.
