I agree, Clemson is really good. But Bama is much better. Their defense is going to shut Etienne down and make TL very uncomfortable. Wouldn’t doubt it if he gets injured and we see the backup.

TL isn’t mobile enough for that Bama D, hasn’t learned how to slide yet, and I think that’s going to get him in trouble next week.
That's pretty much what I said earlier. Clemson defense absolutely must hold Bamas offense so their Offense doesn't have to go one dimensional...if that happens, like you said, TL may get broke in half.

I disagree. The traditional bowls were much more entertaining and meaningful before playoff.

Playoff expansion will sully the greatest regular season in sports.
I guess I mean since the playoff was in place. Every non playoff bowl game just feels like a waste of time to me.

And we’re never going to go backward. So give me more games that matter.

College’s catch rule is now more confusing than the NFL’s

If the player loses control of the ball while simultaneously touching the ground with any part of his body [except his feet, of course], or if there is doubt that the acts were simultaneous, it is not a catch. If a player has control of the ball, a slight movement of the ball, even if it touches the ground, will not be considered loss of possession.

I read that rule differently but could be wrong.

I read that rule to be regarding a catch or a drop which you are right the ball can move but in this case the receiver was laying out of bounds. So yea the movement wouldn't have mattered except it meant he was out of bounds

Maybe that makes some sense

ATP I just want the regular season to still be meaningful week to week. Expansion will damage that.

BCS system was better but we’ll never go back. Only moar.

i'm not a stats nerd, but there are stats you look at in predicting games. One is Red Zone D. As pointed out by the Herbie and Fowler - Okie is worse than awful. They gave up 40 TD's in 47 trips into the RZ in addition to 4 FG's. So you can figure this one truly was a 70 - 30 type game if Saban lets up on O. If he keeps the hammer down records may be shattered.

I’m reminded of George Lucas endlessly tinkering with something that was already great for reasons I can’t quite comprehend.
