Botch on the way to Maryland

You've got it all wrong, but its not important. Just admit it bothers you that you seem to think Pruitt blames the season on the players that suck...and it bothers you that some posters defend Pruitt.
Neither bother me, I think they were both stupid. Does everything you find stupid bother you?

At first it wasnt clear if it was ignorance or purposefully misrepresenting what was said.

That's not near as murky anymore.

Yeah, people defended Butch against those that thought it was a bad hire in year one. I dont remember Butch blaming his first year on sucky players so I dont know what the reaction would have been.

Simple, fans overwhelmingly thought Dooley left subpar talent, but in an odd twist many fans think that Jones left a lot of talent. He didn't. Some were expecting 8 wins this year.

Funny how folks tend to go with what benefits the current coach

I thought the talent was bad last year as well under Butch. It is not difficult to spot a lack of quality speed, strength, size, depth, etc but maybe it's just me.

Add the lowered expectation quotes from Jones. Multi-year track record of blow torching games with a unblemished losing record to Muschamp. It was the culture of UT football under Jones. His recruiting rankings were distorted by quantity and many of his transfers were higher ranked guys.

You won't catch me knock a 1st year coach that plays to win. If we get one of those well timed on-side kicks then they were momentum in our favor. They were low risk, high reward because the Vols were generally behind and generally outmanned so don't kid yourself. They all seemed to have the curse of bad execution by a program that has struggled. Saban pulled off an on-side kick against Fulmer in his 1st year at Alabama. His players executed it and it led to a win.

Now take Butch for instance, he coached scared and made moronic decisions which I noticed year 1. I always use Florida as an example, Muschamp coached, when he started Peterman. This fool did not notice that Peterman had broken a finger/hand in the first half even as he was going 4-11 for 5 yards and 2 int's. This after we had taken 7 point lead with incompetent QB play.

Still 'butching' about Butch I see. Hit it once more, Elsa.

Let it go, let it go
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door
I don't care what they're going to say
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway
Let it go, let it go
