Another JUCO bust. Coach was riding him hard in spring and everyone thought it was because they saw greatness in him. I suspected it was desperation because they knew he wasn’t going to get it done.

Good luck out there

Please please please stop relying on juco guys.

4-2-4 guys that were elite hs talents are the only ones that we should ever consider

That is the ideal situation, but we needed/need immediate help and have to take a few flyers. Some work, some don't.

The fact is Pruitt is right.

If you don't have players who OC is is overrated. The problem is the OC elevates every roster if they are good. Helton didn't do that this year and that is why we didn't go bowling.

Jimmies and Joes can win us 8-9 games but we better get a damn good OC or elite recruiting won't do better than we did under the last staff.

Well we still don’t have the players yet so we can just hire anyone and it won’t really matter because we don’t have the players. Amirite?

A rather depressing stat:

2018 NCAA OFFENSIVE LINE STATS | Football Outsiders

Until the problems with our OL are rectified, we'll not see improvement in the win column.

OL has been 90 percent of our problem since Dooley's guys graduated/left. Both Dooley and Jones knew what would be coming too but what kills me is that Butch had time to remedy the situation and didn't. Why did he keep recruiting so many undersized projects at OL when we needed a bunch more Trey Smiths? Dobbs fooled everyone into believing progress was being made because he was just that good.
