Where at if you don’t mind me asking? Va Beach is my “second home” and where I’ll retire one day. Spent a lot of time between Va Beach and Baltimore all around the BayWhere did you get the raw oysters from?Chesapeake restaurant in Knoxville or actually the Chesapeake bay? Asking, because I used to live there.
I lived just on the other side of the Chesapeake Bridge from Little Creek. Used to do beach runs to the fence and back (4 miles total). I was stationed with the NATO HQ until a year ago. Also went to ODU for grad school in 06-07I was stationed at Little Creek from 86 to 90. Loved my time there. Still have friends there.
It's a small world. You might know my uncle's as tthey grew up in that area. Although none played basketball. Grandad was civil service. Oversaw a lot of VA construction contracts and other naval contracts. They retired back to TN in Hartsville.Know that area well. Ref’d basketball games there for extra money during grad school
I was a yeoman stationed at The Naval Amphibious School at little creek. Cool stories and memories. Anyone in at same time would have to know about the Ship’s Wheel. Did you know any of the SEALS, CBs or and of the LSD 40 crew stationed there?I lived just on the other side of the Chesapeake Bridge from Little Creek. I played the golf course there religiously, often joining someone walking the course as well. Worked with a lot of SF guys while I was at Bragg and so I make it a habit of not bringing up work. By their looks and demeanor, I definitely think I played with some SEALs, but never asked. Some would say they were at Dam Neck, which only furthered my belief they were a SEAL. Lots of faces I’d recognize, but no one by job title.I was a yeoman stationed at The Naval Amphibious School at little creek. Cool stories and memories. Had a SEAL for a roommate once, started off of LSD 40 to begin with. Believe it or not, easier having him as a roommate. He went his way. I went mine. Worked out great.
