Exactly. I don't even watch any of them till new year's anyway. If they were playoff games though, I'd be watching every one of them. One argument I hear for not expanding the playoffs is it would diminish a lot of the lower bowls. So far, there looks to be a lot of teams/players that don't even want to be playing in these things.
These under-card bowls are just terrible to watch.
Agree. I think it’s very possible Yurcich just said wait. Because before then they were info coming out on several candidates. Right when things started to really heat up with yurcich...boom. Everything completely stopped and not a single drop of info on anyone else has came out.
That’s what I’m hoping anyways
I'm speaking more in a general sense. Not necessarily that this is your take. But I don’t think it’ll be an apocalyptic hire either. I just think it’ll be a different name than we’ve heard so far.
The answer might be in plain sight though.
Jeremy Pruitt himself said he doesn’t care that much about the OC search. Now, I know we all think he was playing coy and just giving a dismissive answer to avoid the question - but what if he was telling the truth?
What if he’s not that worried about it and knows he’ll have a new candidate pool once the NFL makes their firings official?
"Total incompetence" is reactionary and hyperbolic. I just think Pruitt would rather take his time to make sure he hires a guy he likes and trusts this time, instead of hurrying just for the sake of pleasing impatient dickwad fans...I mean us.Total incompetence if we start from the ground floor again after all of this wasted time. Just another quitter that Butch signed from the same class. It's not like he was going to be a NFL 1st round draft pick or anything to quit on the Cal team for the bowl game. Smh!
If I remember correctly, Dooley's staff did not offer Vic because he was a hothead at a summer camp. Butch was hired and offered him. At the time, I thought it was a good offer because Vic had relationships in middle TN that helped recruit other players. Probably still a good offer, but it seems that Butch wasn't good at handling egos.
I think we should go back to an 11 game season get rid of playing fcs schools, and change some of the bowls into more playoff games. There's no reason to have 80 teams make bowl games but only 4 make the playoffs.
If i had the magic wand this is how i would do it.
Switch every league to the same schedule 11 games...8 conference games and 3 OOC (2P5&1G5). No conference championship games.
Championship Playoff:
-16 teams
-no auto bids
-first round top seed gets a home game.
-elite 8 and beyond is neutral
NIT playoff:
-next 16 teams, same format.
