AgreeTwo key statements that are truth. The later was obvious early in the season when he made him come down from the booth and stand on the sidelines where he could chew on him. To deny the former is to deny history.
I'm just going to throw this out there because I believe a reasonable conclusion can be drawn amidst all the angst on here at times. It just may be that CJP, with Fulmer assisting as needed, may know what he is doing. He may actually understand offenses since he was a HC in HS and spent his entire collegiate coaching career winning NC rings by dissecting opposing teams O's. He and his staff proved their recruiting abilities following Botch's 4-8 debacle and this past 5-7 season despite being terrible on O. Being #121 in total O and #108 in O scoring should tell every Vol fan how different this last season could have been. So getting the Jimmies and Joes is underway. Now hire the proven OC who will work with the existing good staff to get the O going. Sark fits the profile and has been at elite levels in CFB along with his NFL experience. If it's him, count me as excited.
I was impressed with norv Turner and the offense he ran at Carolina this year. Very innovative and found ways to enhance their offensive talent. Until cam couldn't throw the ball anymore the last couple of games because of his shoulder. They have the same record as Atlanta I think. Devised a lot of different schemes to make their young receivers look really good and treated McCaffrey like the feature back he is and not some third down specialist. How many coordinators of teams with losing records are you impressed with? All of them suck?
Norv’s been around forever. There’s a reason for that. Seen plenty of his offenses tank since his Cowboy’s glory days tho. Tevin Coleman is a backup who’s arrived under Sark. Unless he’s had enough time in the NFL game to determine he wants to go back through the college route. Seeing as that he would still have to do some career rehab, Tennessee (with a trusted colleague in Pruitt) would be a prime choice.
Maybe he wants to be a college head coach again. I would think some prefer college to the NFL.I like Sark and would be happy with the hire, it just seems far fetched to me that someone would leave or turn down other NFL opportunities to take any college OC job - let alone one for a team devoid of talent like ours.
I suppose there’s no guarantee he has other NFL options, however. But that would be weird given his offensive stats.
They've both been around plenty and norv has had some bad years himself which is one of the many reasons I'd be perfectly happy with sark. My only point was that I don't think he's done a great job in Atlanta which is partly why he wouldn't be my favorite choice. And maybe that could turn out to be a good thing since he wouldn't be giving us the time of day if he was rolling there. And he definitely has shown a knack for play calling in the past.Norv’s been around forever. There’s a reason for that. Seen plenty of his offenses tank since his Cowboy’s glory days tho.
