So, about that OC position.... (Merged)

I’ll be the first to come on here and eat crow. I initially thought this whole OC (or lack there of) would hurt us on early signing day/period. Looks like it didn’t.

But now that it’s over, when the heck is Pruitt gonna hire one, and who? These recruits must have known something, especially with signing plenty of players on offense.
Our OC IS STILL CALLING PLAYS IN THE NFL HE WILL BE HERE AFTER THE FIRST OF THE YEAR.

Haha, I was waiting for that, didn't think it'd be you tho.

I was just helping a brother out, that's the last thing I know of that's been reported.
So if that is his choice, why hasnt he been named officially? VN acts like Pruitt has no clue, yet the best program in the country handles it the very same way.

I don't know why he hasn't named him yet.

Some here on VN are just howler monkeys. Some are just skeptical of Pruitt because he's a Bammer, never been a HC, not Mullen or Leach or pretty much anyone else or all the above.

Well he’s BEEN a HC now. So we can end that silly narrative and judge on more viable basis.

Sorry. I wasn’t very clear. I’m was meaning Saban seems to operate the same way. I’m pretty sure Enos isn’t official. And pretty sure Locksley wasn’t named until sometime after February last year. Pruitt is catching flack from his own fan base yet he seems to try to model his program after Sabans.

You were clear. I said I don't know why Saban hasn't made Enos official yet.

Then I commented on your point that VN treats Pruitt like he doesn't have a clue while it seems Saban is doing the same thing.

I have zero insider info at all but I just have a strange feeling that Coach Osovet will be our next OC.

If that's what happens I can't gripe at all about that move by Pruitt.

The combined knowledge and experience of Pruitt, Osovet and Friend could design a O that can control the clock, move the chains and score.

I think they could also design a hurry up O that can score fast if need be.

At least we did really well in the early signing days without a OC in place and we can all relax now and wait and see what Pruitt does if it's not Osovet.

I just hope we don't lose Osovet off of our staff.

With this weekend ending some seasons for college and NFL, maybe we hear an announcement next week. But it wouldn't surprise me for this to drag out until February.

The only thing about a February hire is will it not be better for this guy to have more time with the offense players between now and then? I would think a lot of "understanding could be absorbed between now and Feb..

Not so sure...but maybe, because a "solid source" reported seeing a drunk escort from Cleveland, wearing a Baylor University shirt, walking around Neyland, asking if anyone had seen her friend Cooter because they were scheduled for a RPO (not sure she knew what that meant) in Athens. After which she was headed to Canada, via "Omaha!" and Stillwater.

Hmmm

I think I'd stick to his record as a DC than his shiny new HC record of 5-7...

Really wasn't relevant to what we were talking about, but it wouldn't matter anyway, someone else, maybe even you, would have told us we can't use his records as a DC. Hell, I'm surprised @volfannbama hasn't already corrected you on that.

Having used the google to learn more about Osovet, I believe your prediction is probably correct. The only problem is the time it has taken for an internal promotion.
