1...Do we expect any new signings today or tomorrow?

2...Are we in really good on any specific players that we could get to flip and sign with us these next 2 days?

I'm just looking for solid information from our VN experts, Thanks.

Eric Gray would be an absolutely huge get for us today. It's also possible Crouch signs this week, but if he does he is not announcing until January so we won't know about it. The last 3 big-time recruits we have a good shot with are Gray, Crouch and Wright. Adding them to this class would make this year's haul a huge success (imo). The fact that we have such a good chance with Crouch is kind of amazing.

Getting the “all” of a top rated player that all your SEC rivals wanted is quite a bit different than the “all” of a 2 or 3 star that’s not nearly as talented that nobody’s heard of and nobody wanted. That’s why people care about rankings. It matters.

Yeah, law of averages says this will be the case. As a whole, I don't care about ratings, but it's no accident that UGA/BAMA/LSU/CLEMSON, etc are top of the heap...they sign the most 4's and 5's. Certainly people miss every day on 3's. If you've got a team with mostly 3's, you better have a good QB and a veteran team with some guys that over achieve (Miz/Ms St). Our problem is we don't have a bunch of guys like Grant Williams or Schofield or Alexander (our whole bball team) who have far exceeded their ratings. Mostly, we've got alot of guys who have struggled to prove that their play equals their rating coming out of hs. I do think Pruitt very good eye for talent and can develop players. Certainly, Fitz staying will be big for continuity and movement towards better results on the field.

What do you consider "make it"? Seriously asking... IIRC UT has had an abysmal record recently converting 4 and 5 star athletes into NFL draftees, All SEC players or honorable mention All Americans.

I bet they do.

Over a four year period (which is the approximate NFL career length), over 5,000 kids will be rated 3*. If you divide 26/5000 , that is 1/2 of 1% of all 3* players that make the Pro Bowl. There are approximately 120 5* over a 4 year period. If only 1 5* makes the Pro Bowl, that's 1%, or twice the percentage.

Rankings aren’t an exact science, but there’s a reason Bama & UGA are the top tier of the SEC. It isn’t having a mindset. It’s having a team full of large, fast, and talented men that are competing against other large, fast and talented men. Don’t kid yourselves that not having superior recruiting classes can be resolved with a “mindset”.

You are correct, there is a higher percentage. It is also a fact that they powers that be miss VERY badly as well. See if you recognize any of these players from LAST year's Pro Bowl that were either 2 stars or not even rated coming out of high school.

Speaking of Grant, Admiral, and Kyle, CRB and his staff have two things going for them: 1. They are amazing at evaluating talent and character and fit when it comes to recruiting. It's not to say they won't pursue 4 or 5 star guys, it's just that is not what determines their interest. 2. They are very good at developing what they get. They have developed a system that works over a period of time and they stick with it.

I think CJP has a lot of these same characteristics--at least I sure hope he does.

You bring up a great point. Bama's 2nd and 3rd string could beat 11 or 12 of the 14 teams in the SEC. Their practices are raised to the next level because of the competition.

Not sure about this math. Each NFL team is allowed to have 53 players on its roster (plus a five-player practice squad). The NFL has 32 teams, making a total of 1,696 players.
