In many cases there are ramifications for a coach leaving. The LOI is a contract, much like a contract a coach signs. If a coach voluntarily leaves, then many times there are financial implications. Since there can not be a monetary penalty for breaking a contract, then sitting a year isn't all that bad. IMOSo a coach can quit today and be coaching somewhere tomorrow with no consequences...
Or you can quit your job today and start another one tonight....
But god forbid a college football player move schools for a chance to better them selves. Never understood why the public sides with the building over the block.
