Or you can quit your job today and start another one tonight....

But god forbid a college football player move schools for a chance to better them selves. Never understood why the public sides with the building over the block.

In many cases there are ramifications for a coach leaving. The LOI is a contract, much like a contract a coach signs. If a coach voluntarily leaves, then many times there are financial implications. Since there can not be a monetary penalty for breaking a contract, then sitting a year isn't all that bad. IMO

Nah, you’ve got 4 finite years to do something you want to do in order to reach the NFL and support your family. If it ain’t working somewhere, get out as soon as you can.

He has several options for transferring. I believe a student should be allowed to transfer for any reason under the sun. However, if a player is allowed to leave without repercussions, then it is only the school that gets screwed by NCAA rules. With the 25 signee limitations placed by the NCAA, Georgia could have given his spot to another player last year had they known he was going to bolt at the first sign of adversity.

Excuse me for not having sympathy on someone with God given #1 prospect in the country talent because he wasn't able to win the starting job somewhere. He has more of an opportunity to succeed where he is right now at UGA than 99.99% of kids out there today. He made the choice to go to UGA with a sitting QB that took them to the NC game. Nobody forced him to make that decision.

No one is saying quit your day job and work night shift that went way over your head. I’m saying you could quit whatever job you have today if you are unhappy and don’t feel it’s the best for you/your future. and start a totally new job tomorrow and no one would blink an eye.

Fields is doing the exact same thing. A player has basically 5 years to make something out of that “god given talent” that you use against him so a player should be able to whatever they feel is necessary to get them to the NFL, NBA MLB etc. He waited til after the season so i see nothing wrong with it at all. If Georgia is upset about losing the spot for recruiting then keep your players happy and you won’t lose them. Or don’t take ona High profile QB when you have One in place.

I was more speaking about the court of public opinions on ramifications but you’re right. But if another school is willing to give a player a scholarship upon leaving then the player should be able to take advantage of that.

It’s part of coaching to keep your players happy and not build a roster where you have 3 high profile QBs and a couple end up leaving. Sumlin struggled with it at A&M.

I am not going to comment over the college athlete situation, but it does seem like the younger generation changes jobs much more than in the past. Would be interested to see if there is a study/report on that. But, short attention spans and immediate gratification seem to have caused young people to move around more in jobs.

Osovet takes Weinke’s spot, and is given a co-OC title or something similar. I’m wondering if Yurcich sees the value of installing some of Osovet’s concepts into his offense. Yurcich still gets paid the OC type money and is the playcaller and coordinator.

Is that a bad thing? If someone is changing jobs in hopes to better themselves/family then they should.

99% of the time company’s, corporations, schools, etc aren’t going to be loyal to an employee..they are about the bottom dollar. Word of advice never choose loyalty to a job over betterment of yourself/family.

NFL players are under contract, they can't just up and leave while under contract.

What if he goes to another school and gets beat out? Should he just be able to pack up and try another team? When does some of the responsibility fall on the player? He did choose to go to a team with freshman QB that beat out another pretty dang good upperclassmen. He should have to bare some responsibility for make g the choice to go to GA to begin with. If you open this up for immediate eligibility for transfers without a legitimate hardship reason, it will be the biggest cluster fudge that college football has ever seen.
