Here’s the quote, he was asked about our run game struggles:Nobody knows... 99% sure Pruitt did say earlier in the season he wanted more RPO calls and for JG’s to make more passes out of it the few times it was called, so there’s that
Couldn’t find the one saying JG needs to pass more out of it, but IK for sure he said it, I believe after the Utep gameIf you're going to run the football, you have to have RPO's set up. Maybe you can't block a defender there. Well the answer is, you have an RPO behind it. Well that comes on the quarterback getting the ball out of his hands, so there's lots of different ways. You can go back to the good old-fashioned hat-on-a-hat, everybody's fitted up, but maybe we get defeated there. Sometimes your running backs have to run the ball the right way, too, so there's lots of things that go into it."
Are you basing that off his top 2 teams being UT and UM? I can see that, but I’m sure he’d have an open mind to the idea. Especially after Osovet shows him it’s makin it’s way to the NFL and the Chiefs, Eagles, Rams have had tons of success with it.Dunno but stylistically, it doesn't appear to be a match.
Makes sense. I just think of Bailey as that traditional pocket qb, surveying and reading defenses. Probably not fair in today's football when you look at those teams you mentioned, as well as any number of college programs... Drew lock and mo was a good example I didn't even consider....Are you basing that off his top 2 teams being UT and UM? I can see that, but I’m sure he’d have an open mind to the idea. I’m not sure how much of it they run. Nearly every team runs it at least a few times a game. Kendal Briles has lived off of it, Clemson runs it a lot. It stands for Run-Pass-Option. Gotta have a QB who can read a defense and make quick decisions
