I believe he is purposefully lying as a favor for Fulmer. Because no matter what you can’t call him on a lie like that.

Whenever a hire is made, he can simply claim that was the guy the whole time and he knew it and we didn’t.

People will know though. It will damage his reputation. How much I'm not sure. I know I will take what he says with a grade of slaw from here on out.
