You make a good argument on Streeter taking an OC job elsewhere but where is the tie with Pruitt? Do they know each other?Brandon Streeter at Clemson makes a lot of sense for this situation.
-Jeff Scott and Tony Elliott are ahead of him on the Clemson staff pecking order for OC, and both of them are Clemson grads not likely to leave soon
-He makes $455k at Clemson
-Streeter is a Clemson grad and their recruiting coordinator, and doesn't want to screw over his alma mater by leaving until after ESD
-Has an OC background at the FCS level
-Currently coaches QBs
I could imagine him accepting the offer on the condition that he gets to stay through ESD
Valid point. A Google search to identify a coach can be hard to justify if the pick doesn't work out. If you pick a brand name, it's a lot easier to justify later based on track record; it not nearly as much ammo later for the guys that want to fire you.

i don't think T Fair had any direct connect with Pruitt either? That's true but so far everyone on his staff had prior connections except Johnson. And fit seems to be top priority. So odds are it'll be someone he's worked with in the past.
siap - this is one of the best ever - my eyes are leaking

Meh, I’m honestly tired of going down the unproven coach route. They might freeze up when they are under the gun in a big environment with 100k+ screaming fans.I don't care what level they coach at as long as they can recruit and develop talent at the level we need them to in order to be successful. The X's and O's are the same. If you know the game, you know the game. They are just getting to work with more elite athletes.
I agree it's not a must but odds are it'll be the case. Also, Fair came from Colorado State with Friend so his best buddy had knowledge of his abilities. And Fair is a VFL.i don't think T Fair had any direct connect with Pruitt either?
i get what you're saying, i just don't think that's a pre requisite for getting this job.
@Atlanta VOL already told us it wasn’t Chaney.FWIW, Price said we have talked to Chaney, but he appears to be staying at UGA.
i don't think the most interesting thing will be finding who's sources were the best. It'll be interesting once this all shakes out, to see who's "sources" had the best info. We all say nobody knows anything, but once it all comes out i'm sure some of our VolNation detectives will figure out who was telling the truth and who was being fed lies.
One last thing: big names generally come with big egos, and power struggles, a clash of wills and a divided staff will slow the rebuild. The quickest way to winning is for Pruitt to hire a guy who can be what he needs him to be-- not who the fans want him to be.
Carry on.
The only ones I have a big problem with are trolls like fake Travis Stephens Vol34 and some others that have been proven as potstirring trolls.i don't think the most interesting thing will be finding who's sources were the best.
i'm sure everyone's sources or whatever, were all relaying things they heard at the time. so in that context, how wrong would that insider really be?
things change, information that may have been right at one time, isn't at others.
this obsession we have on this board with either validating or tearing down supposed insiders is weird.
John Brice and Trey Wallace sure as hell don’t know what’s going onIt'll be interesting once this all shakes out, to see who's "sources" had the best info.
