I’ve been thinking. I think that now, with the ESD, kids should get more OVs to use. Coaches are pushing kids to take OVs earlier, even in the summer before. Coaching staffs can change a lot between then and February signing day. If a kid uses all his OVs up at coaches behest early, and then staffing starts to change, I feel like they should have a couple more to use. And they should be able to use them to the schools they have already used them too. This process is supposed to be for a kid to find the best fit for them. And some kids can’t afford multiple UOVs

Just my 2 cents
I just wish they would get rid of the damn thing.

We might as well chill out talking so much about making this hire. This thing isn’t happening until after ESD for sure, and may not happen until after the last NFL game, if it is indeed a NFL guy, which I’m thinking more and more that it is. IMO, Pruitt and Fulmer already have a tentative agreement in place, and Pruitt told Bailey and some others who it is. The more I look at it, there’s no way Bailey chooses us if he doesn’t know who the OC is. At best, he decides to delay his decision, and of course at worst, he chooses Michigan. JMO. I think Doug is right...they know exactly who they are hiring and it’s been pretty much a done deal for quite a while. The only thing completes the other 5% is official signatures.

I'm puzzled by all the hate for Sark. If he had been Pruitt's choice last year, y'all would have been elated (for good reason). That Atlanta team was explosive and he would have been considered a steal for UT.

He's the same coach with the same resume and same experience. I honestly don't think it's him but I'd be jacked if he were named our OC.

The offense's scoring output, under his guidance, dropped from 33.8 points per game (leading the NFL in 2016) to 22.1 points per game in 2017

I hope its not Sarkisian. His offense on the Falcons was so predictable.

Yeah he's pretty much the best realistic candidate left at this point, IMO.

VN OC playbook:
  1. Identify candidate
  2. Discuss candidate
  3. Have doubts about candidate
  4. Talk candidate up
  5. Foam at the mouth for candidate
  6. Post waiting gifs about candidate's announcement
  7. Dissect vague media tweets
  8. Have doubts candidate is coming
  9. Find out candidate isn't coming
  10. Post gifs about train-wrecked search
Repeat as necessary.

Not really hate, but just dont see how he is such a great candidate. That Atlanta offense has gotten progressively worse since he has taken over for them.

Not saying I would be unhappy with that hire

There is just no reason to hold X candidate until NSD unless it’s an NFL guy.

My guess is we’re still interviewing a lot of guys and Pruitt knows it’s gonna take longer than another week.
It makes sense if the school we're getting the OC from doesn't want their recruits to be aware of a coordinator leaving. Mutual agreement between Pruitt and the other school would be my bet.

We've had a surge of interests from offensive recruits in the last few days and coming on campus this weekend. I would wager that our recruits know who Pruitt is bringing in to be the OC.

Best post I’ve seen in a while. Well done.

I would be happy with Sark. Great recruiter and knows the college game well. Experience at all levels in college.

He can't do much right now in ATL. That OL is terrible and injuries taking their toll. Jones is the only real offensive threat with Devonta out. Ryan has been inconsistent all year.

I just don’t know why you would make that deal. You’re essentially letting the guy you’ve hired recruit against you for 6 more days.

The Falcons have been relatively good on offense considering how poor the OL is. It's the 27th ranked unit on football outsiders. They've had a ton of injuries too.

This is my thinking as well. Both sides are waiting until after the early signing period so we/they don't upset the apple cart with recruits. That means the new hire isn't currently on our staff and is already coaching for a prominent college football team in an important capacity. That would mean Briles, Yurcich, and other sitting OCs would be in play. Or possibly somebody we haven't even considered.
