Exactly. Nobody offered him the job. Which is why it wasn’t blocked. He’s a liberty because he couldn’t get a better gig other than OC in the AAF

Honestly i think it’s more likely that fulmer is feeling the fans get restless and he is getting Doug to help him out and Doug is going to bat for him by saying something that sounds like a big deal but it’s really just hot air.

No, they said hurdles to hiring him. They never defined what they were. And clearly, that info was coming from Freeze’s camp, as they later said, not UT’s.

Brice knows nothing. VQ guys did not say he was offered, said there were hurdles, but have walked that back. The freeze stuff came from the freeze camp. He was not Pruitts choice or candidate. Period

So can we agree, DM is best buds with AD Fulmer? Doubt he'd go on the radio and knowingly state we have our OC, if he knows it to not be true? I don't think he'd risk his rep. And didn't he also say last week, it was a coach with SEC experience, as well?

Saying that serves 2 purposes: #1 It takes some fan (and maybe booster) pressure off Pruitt and Fulmer. #2 No matter who the hire is, he can say it was the guy they wanted from the get go.

This is much more plausible than saying we’ve had it done for 2 weeks and we’ve just been flying around interviewing guys to learn stuff.

Not saying I (don't) believe DM. But it's basically impossible to be proven wrong by saying we have found our new OC and it's 95% done...we just haven't announced yet for...well could be various reasons. Oh and other interviews I'll cover my behind there to...thats just to gain some info on various offense and schemes we may face, but don't worry, those non-candidates will also be willing to interview because it can help them get a raise or a better job.

The only way to be proven wrong is if Pruitt or Fulmer outright say they have not found the right candidate yet. Which mind you, they would never admit.

It’s pretty much accepted at this point that someone higher up raised a red flag in some way regarding freeze. Low, Hubbs, Brice, have all said something about it. That’s why i said it will be interesting to see what comes of it once the dust settles.

Had Pruitt wanted him and just got stonewalled by Fulmer or the Admin at UT, he could have easily landed at Bama, AU, or FSU.

I dont think it takes a PHD to figure out that none of those 3 were scared to pull the trigger just because UT didnt.

We haven't been flying around to do interviews. The interviews have taken place in the cities we were going to recruit at. Killing two birds with one stone it appears.
