How many will not renew season tickets?

Going to the games is like paying for a kick in the nads! Something only the true mentally insane individual(s) can find some kind of sick enjoyment.
Only the losses are like that. The wins are not. Just ask the fans that made the trip to Auburn. I wonder how many that went wish they would have stayed home to watch on TV?

The wins are becoming far and few. While the losses and blowouts are becoming the new norm. They are starting to even struggle with the smaller schools. Just isn't worth the money or time to attend a game hoping that UT might upset a mediocre Kentucky, Vanderbilt, or Auburn team.

Like most other people, I get upset when we lose. I try to not say anything because as I read most of the post on this thread, and some others, I see how absolutely ridiculous it looks to see supposed fans of Tennessee acting like spoiled brats with no regard to the effect they are having upon the hopes for things to get better.

I cannot even imagine what a recruit thinks when they are shown these attitudes of many UT fans. Yes, I know it is a small portion of fans, but to them it can be made to seem as if the whole fan base is crazy, and that they would be stepping into a situation where those fans would abandon them in a heartbeat if they mess up.

Coach Pruitt is the right man for the job at UT, and he will get it done, even though he has to defeat the naysayers along with the teams he plays. The job he stepped into was loaded with obstacles, but he has made tremendous progress.

To have fans from other schools throwing out all the garbage is one thing, but the constant barrage of negative, thoughtless comments by our "own fans", is unbelievable.

I hope he hires a fantastic OC, and pulls in a great recruiting class, and I would hope when he does, and Tennessee moves back to our rightful place among the elites of college football, there will be a big bar-b-que for all those who will be honest enough to eat crow.

Since season tickets to my knowledge generally include home games in Knoxville, there have been 14 home games since the wheels officially fell off in 2017. Of those 14 home games, UT won 50%. Those wins came against Indiana State, UMass, Southern Miss, ETSU, UTEP, Chalotte, and Kentucky.

Based on the past decade which is a pretty long time, it's getting to the point where Butch's two 9 win seasons are more of an anomaly than UT just getting back to the 90's glory days. I don't have season tickets, but I can definitely understand why some no longer see the value in the product and choose to watch from the house. I happened to luck out and chose the Kentucky game as the only game I went to this year. Almost went with Missouri instead -- dodged a bullet there.

I hated seeing Neyland half full, and I'm afraid another crap season this year will make season tickets sales go to an all time low next year. Sad times.

Half FULL or empty...………...HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW MANY TICKETS ARE SOLD.
I would dare say all of the games are pretty close to being sold out! How many show up is another issue. Especially based on opponents and their desire to come to Neyland. What you are talking about is Popcorn Sales!! Turn your tickets in......they will be sold.

You a-holes who are local better renew. Were I not 11 hours away and current incapable of walking due to spinal issues (surgery coming in February) I'd be there. I'm thinking of buying season tickets despite knowing I won't physically be able to make it, but feel bad about the possibility knowing that I could be depriving fans a ticket who actually want to be at the game. Give me a break. If you're a fan and are financially capable, you better renew. Even if you can't make the game. I get not wanting to support mediocrity, but have some pride for **** sake.

I'm going to renew right now, just for the anger and disappointment I've experienced by reading this thread. Don't be an embarassment to the university you love, be someone who contributes for a brighter future. If not just for football, then for the players, students, and the orange. Give your all for Tennessee today, or start rooting for Vandy.

Real men don't support losers! Just like the rest of us schlubs, if they(the university) want money, they are going have to earn it.

What difference will it make? If all 262 responses to this thread( so far) said they were not going to renew, it would not make any difference in the game attendance.

Seems legit to me, but what do I know?
I'm not sure. Seems that many are getting tired of our Athletic Department flipping the fanbase the middle finger time and time again. Demanding how the most loyal fanbase in the world (we really are) spend their time and money is a bit over the top.

With Fulmer as AD, fans should be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he is committed to getting us back to winning and support the program.

It’s hard going to a game. Even worse when we lose. I get it that folks have hurt feelings, but to abandon now just seems short sighted after all that we a have been thru.

I'm not advocating giving up. I haven't. But I can understand why people are giving up tickets.

We all understand that nobody wants to go to a game we lose, but at some point we have to take one for team or at least take one for the ones that are giving all for Tennessee. When the chips are down(They are.) it’s time to put on more steam by filling Neyland and getting loud.

Sure for the players that didn’t buy in and give all, I think we would all agree that the best thing for them and the program would be for them to move on. Maybe they will, so the fans can feel good about going to the games.

Maybe if I had been to as many games as some of the folks on here have been I’d be sick and tired of going to, but I have not been that fortunate and I still have the desire to go watch them play, even when the odds are against us getting the win. I’ve seen us win games that nobody gave us a chance and I’ve seen us lose games that didn’t make any sense either.

If a person does not want to go to a game, then don't go....
Seems simple enough.

If you are gong to go, then go, that seems simple enough too.

I’m a big fan of Star Wars and have been for many years, but each new film release is worst than the last (sans Rogue One). I can’t just go be a Star Trek fan it doesn’t speak to me. I’ll always love Star Wars but they aren’t getting anymore money until things improve. It’s actually irresponsible for me to continue buying tickets to the theater because it encourages this poor filmmaking.

Tennessee football is really no different.
