seen his name mentioned here a couple times, not sure that he'd leave ND? plus seems like he's on a trajectory to being an HC in the not too distant future? why leave ND where you have it rolling, to come here for the same position?
No idea, but its as good a guess as any of the others. Plus he's from gump....

Pittman wouldn’t be coming along. He’s an institution down at UGA now. Chaney and he aren’t package deals. He arrived at UT in Chaney’s last season, they got fired together and ended up being snapped up by Bielema at Arkansas. Chaney left him behind at Arkansas when he departed for Pitt and UGA values Pittman even more. Plus his relationships with those loaded OL’s are more solid than any group he’s ever coached. Why would he leave?
i tend to agree with this as far as the thought of it having to be a package deal for pittman and cheney.

which is why i don't think it's cheney; no reason not to announce it if it is him. GA would promote Corely and probably not miss a beat with the rest of the offensive staff.

football scoop

Colorado: CU has approved Mel Tucker’s 5-year, $14.75 million contract, an average of $2.95 million a year. Unlike Mike MacIntyre’s deal, Tucker’s buyout includes an offset for any future earnings.

also
Western Kentucky: Mike Goff, a 12-year NFL veteran who worked on the support staff at USC since 2015, has joined the WKU staff as offensive line coach per the BG Daily News.

Chaney leaving for Pitt was more of "you need to look for another job or we're going to fire you" by Bielema. He accepted the Arkansas OC job with the condition that Pittman would be the OL coach. Pittman turned down Alabama when Chaney was here but then left for Georgia after he was gone.

Doesn't mean they would both leave Georgia but they seemed pretty tied at the hip.

Saw Mizzou game being discussed a page or two back. Just thought I'd say that we lost to Mizzou because they are a better football team. They should have beat KY and arguably should have beat USC. Their fans should be disappointed because they could have been 2nd in the East all while dealing with injuries throughout the season.

I've been upset about our past performances against Mizzou, but I think they were a really solid team this year.

yep. for all the speculation, i'm just not coming up with any really solid reason to hold off on the announcement.

we either are still looking or still trying to figure out logisitcs of the deal.....and one thing i didn't mention earlier, and i'll mention it now, is if we are trying to find a place for Pittman let's say, then maybe part of the deal is we're trying to find a soft landing spot for the staff member that's being replaced, and there's a hold up on that?

i'm getting pretty deep now.....and i realize that. but if what DM said is true, and it's 95% done, then there's any number of things that could represent that 5% not done.

I think Pruitt's happy with his staff. That's a key factor, because the new OC will need to integrate and execute with existing personnel. Not the easiest thing to do, especially when the OL coach is the HC's best Friend.
