How in the world could Basilio be the only person who knew that Chaney turned us down? Has anyone heard any other source state this? Sorry, there are enough in the know on this board that would have heard this.

the cause of the chaos with FSU and Tennessee is easy to spot. Media members need to do a better job vetting sources. An agent as a source is easily the most untrustworthy source out there. The media needs to accept that they've been made into puppets of agendas and sleazy agent car salesman type tactics. Be better.

As a fan base, the quickest way to do it is to reject the "sources tell me..." type of "journalists".

regarding the agent sources, there should be a way to report ethics violations by leaking fake interviews and interests. it's gotten old and pathetic.
But to be fair, it is really on chaos to us as fans. To the rest of everyone involved, it really doesnt matter much what the local media speculates as far as who has been interviewed, who has been offered.

Yurcich was interviewed Thursday. That we know. It was reportedly rumored by many media members that he was offered the job on Friday and was considered the favorite by Pruitt. Then there was an offer rumored on the weekend saying the offer was 1.3 million.

Yurcich turned down Auburn last year and also turned down a position on Bama last year. Could he be waiting for a HC position to open? Or could be something in the contract that they are working? All of those are possible.
At this point Pruitt hasn't interviewed anyone this week, so take that as good news.

Your timeline is off. Yurchich was rumored to be interviewed on Friday along with briles/Lebby. No offer sent to anyone

247 had an article Sunday that Pruitt was nearing a decision and could make an offer as early as Sunday night.

Hank is only person that has said anything about 1.3 million and he said that last night as what we were preparing to possibly offer but he wasn't exact and just said that was amount he heard.

So nowhere has it been said that we have extended the official offer or amount. Hubbs saying back and forth means there is negotiating if terms likely taking place.

So many things could be in play. ESD could make him want to wait to leave Gundy until then as he is loyal to him. TN basketball had a big win Sunday and Monday was their day in spotlight. That could always be a factor in not announcing anything from an AD perspective. So many possibilities.

Bingo. There are two football coaches running this search. And two old school guys at that. I’m sure they don’t have social media on their phones. They don’t follow or monitor the fanbase’s mood. Good or bad, they are two guys that are focused on football and recruiting.

In my opinion they need to do a better job of hiring people around them to manage this stuff. It’s very easy to leak out things like “they’re waiting on an NFL guy” or “Freeze isn’t an option” to ease some minds. But they haven’t done that.

I agree with that.

Edit: I blame the media for it though. I also find it funny that some will turn around and use it against the fanbases. Brian Rice was this morning.

I also agree that PR needs to do a better job at reaching out and calming the media members spouting off false info.

Why would he interview if he is waiting for a HC job? It's not like he is unemployed.

Wrong, Fulmer had one bad hire in Clawson and he wasn't a bad coach, as we see by him being a head coach now, his ideas just didn't mesh well with what we needed at the time. Cut, Chavis, Sanders, Brooks, Taylor, Adkins, Slade they were putting people in the league and coaching kids up. That was one of the top staffs in the country at the time.
Most of those were already on staff. The offense consistently backslid under Sanders.
