If he truly took the time to learn how Saban develops players then yes he can be better at his next stop but he also needs to be in a soft conference with no media scrutiny. I have my doubts he learned anything though because he probably thought he was better somehow
I don't think hes a coach. i dont know how he lucked into being a football coach, but I don't consider Butch coaching material. Maybe my dislike for him is overriding my common sense.

Yurcich runs the system we should have been running this year with the bad o-line.

It’ll be interesting to see how it morphs once we get some studs on the line though.

My guess is more pro style stuff will be forced on him.

From the video
"We are going to be able to run down hill"
"The true essence of our offense is the fast tempo."
"Playing faster than the defense can play"

Coaching style -
Positive
Whole, part, whole - give it all then break it down then build back to the whole.

He came across as well spoken with energy to me. He came across very well

Other than the tempo talked that video was encouraging

I really don’t follow OSU at all but haven’t they been running same offense since the day Gundy was hired? Serious question because I don’t know if this offense is any different

He's all but telling us his offense won't work if that happens
No, he’s saying he can create advantages with tempo.

You can be a power running team and have tempo.

I’ve also heard Pruitt knows as his defense gains depth that he won’t need an offense that holds the ball. He prioritized that this season because we only had 20-24 guys on defense we felt good about playing.

It's all about tempo

You say the pro style will be forced on him and I believe that to include tempo

I saw an interview where he talked about adding in the I-formation against Texas. Imagine an offense that spreads the ball around between the 20’s, and then bring in the maulers in the red area.

Yeah, “pro style” is misleading. We just need to be able to score points.

If that happens Pruitt won’t be on his back.
yep. i think if things go well, the only thing Pruitt would like to do is tell him when to slow it down. lol.

pro style/spread/power....all these cliche terms get thrown around, and the reality is, these coaches want the ability to do what they want to do, depending on the situation. be able to speed it up when you want to, be able to line up and power run when you want to, dink/dunk or go west coast passing, or stress a defense down field.

and a lot of that is just going to be dictated by personnel...don't see the need to label it. i would imagine that if your an offensive coach in the big 12, you need to keep pace wiht the other offenses in the leauge so you recruit to that, and develop game plans to that.

it will be no different here.

the key word is multiple. can you do more than "1 thing"?

that's why this hire his about "fit". not style. if it was style that mattered, then this would have been a really easy hire, and we'd of never talked to the type of guys we've talked to.

don't overthink the "style".
