Why should any hiring process be public?

Because it’s sports. I don’t care who Dell hires as the assistant to the regional manager for their Nashua branch. But millions of people have a vested interest emotionally but more so, financially.

I just read where Tee was getting heavy interest from Austin Peay for their HC and he declined to even talk to them ....lol...this dude really thinks his s*** don't stink.
I don’t think that’s the case at all. In the tweet you read it clearly states he understands he’ll be a position coach or offensive coordinator - he just wants to stay in the Power 5.

The truth is that he knows it’s nearly impossible to win at Austin Peay so there’s no point in taking the job.

NEARLY Impossible.

It certainly was. However, they’ve put a lot into the program recently and Healy managed 13 wins last two years and managed a G5 HC gig by 33 years old.

Not bad.

Per the Doug Mathews show this morning; he reiterated that CJP knows who the OC will be (as does CPF). Does not know why it has not been announced but could be for a variety of reasons (still coaching, bonus, buyout etc) . It will be announced at the proper time and CJP is focused on recruiting as must increase the talent level. The team is focused on S&C as Vols need to be stronger and more physical.

Imo, the meetings this week have been more information and CJP picking offensive minds for strategies and tendencies as he knows the tempo offenses are a challenge for all CFB defenses. Mathews did allude to there could be changes on the offensive staff (other than just the OC)

IF anyone heard more and wants to correct he above - Go for it.

Just saw a tweet from Rucker where he stated, "Jeremy Pruitt said the #Vols have had to lift weights during the offseason as hard as you normally do only during the season because they were small and had to fix that. "

NEARLY Impossible.

I am a BIG Will Healy fans. I took some classes at Austin Peay so I follow the program.

He’s a historical outlier and likely the next great head coach. Whoever they hire is going to be a disappointment due to program restrictions and the simple ole fact that they aren’t as good as him.

That’s not a job I’d want and Tee is smart to turn it down.

You know they weren’t even a scholarship program a decade ago right? They also revamped the stadium in the last 5 years?

Of course if they hire another dud it will be right back to the bottom but that can be said for any OVC school outside of maybe JSU.

Tee should run far from that job. He's making the right decision

WH having a losing year this year says all as need to know about the next coach using apsu as a stepping stone

Sure - they may be building something but I stand by my opinion that it’s not a job I’d want to take right now if I were Tee Martin.

He needs to go somewhere with a great offensive mind at HC and learn under him for a couple of seasons.

He won 1 season. He lost the other seasons he was there. A huge deal was made of the one season (rightfully so) but the team regressed this season back to the Austin Peay norm. Healy has spiked as the hot, new rising star.

Hot take

Pruitt promised Saban no leaks and isn't going to allow the enos news to leak like it did with Sherrer

And i will add this.
Many people think VQ is a mouthpiece for the athletic department at times and this may be the case here. They keep saying enos isn't a serious candidate while fueling the flame for a number of other candidates. They easily could be being used here to deflect attention away from Bama

I have no opinion on if he should have taken the job.

I was discussing the fact that it’s no longer impossible to win there.

Two years ago was good. This last season was a step back down to reality. Seems the run 2 years ago was a fluke.

5-6 isn’t close to AP norm.
